Tony's wine list reads like a greatest hits of recognizable California labels — Orin Swift, Hall, Belle Glos, Quilt. It's not trying to impress anyone who reads wine blogs, but it's not embarrassing either. This is a list built to make dinner easy, not adventurous.
The list leans hard into California Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon, which narrows the field considerably — don't come here hunting Burgundy or a Barolo. What you do get is a coherent lineup of commercially reliable producers: Walt Bluejay and Belle Glos Clark & Telephone hold down the Pinot side, while Hall Napa Valley and Quilt anchor the Cab corner. There's no real international presence to speak of, and variety seekers will find the list shallow outside those two varietals. Still, within that lane, the picks are honest and the prices are mostly reasonable for Indianapolis dining.
With 10-15 glass options, Tony's covers the basics without overreaching. Hahn Pinot Noir at $7 and Feliz Creek Cabernet at $9 give you solid entry-level pours that won't make you wince. The glass program doesn't rotate or surprise — it's steady, predictable, and perfectly fine for a weeknight dinner.
Feliz Creek Cabernet — $9/glass, $36/bottle
At $9 a glass, this is the easiest call on the list. It's an approachable California Cab that won't blow your mind, but the bottle price holds up well against typical restaurant markups — a fair multiple that doesn't feel like highway robbery.
Walt Bluejay Pinot Noir
Most people at a table like this reach for the Boen because they've seen it at the grocery store. Walt's Bluejay is a step up in craft and profile — a Sonoma-focused Pinot from a producer that quietly overdelivers. At $50, it's priced honestly and often overlooked in favor of the bigger brand names sitting next to it.
Orin Swift Slander
At $66, Slander is the most expensive bottle on the list and it's also one of the most commercially marketed wines in the country. Orin Swift is a branding machine — you're paying a premium for a recognizable label, not for what's in the glass. That money goes further almost anywhere else on this list.
Hall Napa Valley Cabernet + House burger or steak entrée
Hall Napa at $50 is a structured, well-made Cab that wants something with fat and char next to it. Drop it next to whatever beef is anchoring the menu and it does exactly what Napa Cab is supposed to do — cut through the richness and make the whole thing feel like a occasion.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Tony's is the wine list equivalent of a reliable coworker — shows up, does the job, never blows you away. If you want California Pinot or Cab with dinner without overthinking it, you're in good hands.

Prime 47 is a dependable, California-forward steakhouse list that earns its Wine Spectator Award of Excellence — not because it takes risks, but because it executes the classics reliably and keeps the Cabs flowing. Send a friend here if they want a good bottle with a great steak; just don't send them expecting to discover anything new.

Vida is the kind of wine program that makes you wish more mid-sized American cities had a Jared May running their lists — deep Burgundy, serious California, and a dining concept that actually justifies both. Yes, you'll pay for it, but this is a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence winner for real reasons.

St. Elmo is the rare steakhouse that earns its Best of Award of Excellence without feeling like it's trying to impress anyone — the list is deep, the wines are real, and Monday half-price night is genuinely one of the best deals in Indianapolis. The markups can sting, but the bones of this program are excellent.

Tinker Street is the wine list that Indianapolis shouldn't have yet somehow does — globally curious, genuinely deep in spots, and anchored by a few pours that would feel at home at a serious wine bar in any major city. The markups on entry-level bottles keep it from being a full Rager, but the ambition earns a trip.

The Eagle is a genuinely great place to eat fried chicken — the wine list, however, is an afterthought dressed up in a menu. Drink the beer, order the bubbles if you must, and save your wine curiosity for somewhere that reciprocates.

BJ's is a fine place to drink a craft beer and eat a Pizookie. It is not a place to drink wine. Order a Brewhouse Blonde, skip the wine list entirely, and save your wine night for somewhere that cares.
