You're sitting inside a resort restaurant in the middle of a canyon with floor-to-ceiling windows staring at red rock formations, and somehow the wine list is 500 bottles deep. That combination is unexpected enough to stop you mid-scroll. This is not the tired hotel wine list you've been burned by before.
The list swings wide and swings hard — Krug 2004 sitting next to Sine Qua Non Grenache, Vieux Telegraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape next to Saxum Broken Stones, Royal Tokaji Aszu next to Donnafugata Ben Rye. This is a genuinely curated global list that someone with real taste put together, not a purchasing manager hitting autopilot. California is well-represented with heavy hitters like Opus One, Quintessa, Sea Smoke, and DuMol, but the dessert and fortified wine section — Alvear Solera 1927, Donnafugata Ben Rye, Taylor Fladgate 20-Year Tawny — is the kind of thing you almost never see this complete at a restaurant in Arizona. The main gap: we don't have visibility into mid-tier everyday drinkers, which matters because a list this high-profile can sometimes leave value-seekers stranded.
By-the-glass specifics aren't publicly documented, which is frustrating given the ambition of the bottle list. At a resort property with this range, the pours are probably serviceable but may not reflect the depth on the bottle side. If you're serious about the wine, go bottles.
Frey-Sohler Blanc de Blancs Brut Crémant d'Alsace NV — null
Crémant d'Alsace is perennially underpriced relative to Champagne and this producer is solid — on a list dominated by prestige cuvées, this is your move if you want bubbles without the resort markup hitting you square in the face.
Alvear Solera 1927 Pedro Ximenez, Montilla-Moriles
Most people at this table are ordering Napa Cab. The Alvear PX is a century-old solera sherry-adjacent that drinks like liquid raisin cake and costs a fraction of anything else on this list with this kind of history. Order it with dessert, or honestly, just order it.
Dom Perignon Epernay 2010
Dom Pérignon at a resort in Sedona is going to carry a markup that makes your eyes water — you're paying for the label and the view, not value in the glass. The Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé or even the Frey-Sohler Crémant will serve you better at the table.
Vieux Telegraphe 'La Crau' Grenache Blend, Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2018 + Southwestern-style tacos
La Crau's earthy garrigue, dried herb character, and warm fruit play surprisingly well against the smoky char and spiced protein of Southwestern tacos — Old World structure, New World heat. It's the kind of pairing that sounds weird until it's obviously right.
The Bottom Line
Tii Gavo is a resort restaurant that refused to phone in its wine list, and that alone puts it in a different category than most of its competition in Arizona. Pricing will sting, but the depth and range are real — if someone else is expensing it, order the Sine Qua Non and don't look back.

For a tourist-heavy Italian restaurant in Sedona, Cucina Rustica's wine list is a genuine overachiever — 30 by-the-glass options, fair pricing, and actual producer-level thinking across the card. We'd send a friend here and tell them to skip the Moët gimmick, order the Chianti Classico Riserva, and enjoy the view.

If you're at Mooney's, you're there for the Guinness — and that's a completely valid life choice. The wine list is a placeholder, not a program. Order a pint, enjoy Sedona, and save the wine decisions for somewhere that's made a few of their own.

The Vault Uptown is a reliable place to drink decent wine with a genuinely great view — and in Sedona, that counts for something. The wine program won't blow any minds, but it won't ruin dinner either. If you're there for the red rocks and the filet, order a glass of something Californian and enjoy the moment. For serious wine exploration, look elsewhere.

Elote Cafe isn't trying to be a wine destination, but its list is better than it has any right to be for a 18-label program at a Mexican restaurant in a tourist town. The Arizona representation from Page Springs Cellars is the real story here, and the pricing is fair across the board. If you're in Sedona and care about what's in your glass, this is a better bet than most of the steakhouses charging twice as much for the same bottles.

89Agave is almost certainly a fun spot to eat — it's a cantina in Sedona, and the margaritas are probably doing the heavy lifting here anyway. The wine list, though, is purely functional and priced without much generosity, particularly at the higher end. If wine matters to your evening, order something simple by the glass and move on; this program isn't the reason to visit.

The Secret Garden Cafe's wine list is a perfectly adequate afterthought — familiar labels that get the job done when the real draw is the patio setting and Sedona scenery. We wouldn't send anyone here specifically for the wine, but if you're already there for the view, the Balleyana is your best bet on the list.
