Walking into a converted 19th-century rail depot in downtown Yountville and finding a curated 15-bottle list instead of a wall of generic Napa Cabs is a pleasant surprise. The space leans into its history without being precious about it, and the list follows suit — compact, considered, and mercifully free of the $400 trophy bottles you'd expect two blocks from The French Laundry. This is a wine bar that actually wants you to relax.
The list is tight at around 15 labels, but the curation shows real intention. Conn Creek anchors the red side with multiple expressions — the entry-level Cuvée Collins at $130, the age-worthy Anthology at $100, and the heritage-nod Class of '73 at $150 — giving you a legitimate vertical conversation in a single venue. Cain Five at $200 is the prestige pick, and its Spring Mountain pedigree earns that slot. On the white and sparkling side, the Sinnet Blanc de Blancs from Russian River at $50 and a Cornerstone Sauvignon Blanc from Sonoma Mountain add genuine range beyond Napa Cab country. The Hibou Sonoma Valley red and white round things out with a softer, more approachable angle for guests who want something lighter.
Glass pricing isn't publicly listed, which is a minor frustration when you're trying to decide whether to commit to a bottle or explore. Given the venue's tasting-room DNA, pours are likely available — but the lack of transparency on glass options and pricing keeps this from being a true by-the-glass hero. If you're going, assume bottles and plan accordingly.

Most people reach for the Class of '73 because of the name, but the Anthology at $100 is the sleeper. It's Conn Creek's flagship blend and historically one of the most consistent Napa Cabs at this price point — easy to overlook when it's sandwiched between flashier labels on a short list.

Cain Vineyard & Winery Cain Five Spring Mountain District Napa Valley 2022 + Charcuterie and aged cheese board
Cain Five is a five-Bordeaux-variety blend with structure and savory complexity that needs something to push back against. A proper board of aged Manchego, prosciutto, and a strong hard salami gives it the friction it wants, letting the wine's Mountain District tannins loosen up and show their best side.
The Bottom Line
The Yount Room is what Yountville wine culture should be more of — unpretentious, walkable, and genuinely interesting without requiring a second mortgage. If you're in town and want a bottle that isn't just a brand name in a fancy room, this is where to land.

The Restaurant at North Block sits in one of the most wine-rich corridors on the planet, and somehow managed to put together a list that maxes out at four pours. The prices are fair, but the effort is not. Come for the food, order a glass of the Vetriccie Rosé, and make peace with the fact that the wine program simply isn't part of the draw here.

RH Yountville is a genuinely beautiful place to drink wine — the room earns that much on atmosphere alone, and the California-forward list will keep most guests happy without any friction. But in Yountville, where the competition includes some of the most serious wine programs in the country, 'happy without friction' isn't the same as memorable. Go for the experience, order confidently by region, and don't expect the list to surprise you.

If you're heading in, put yourself in the staff's hands and ask what's drinking well tonight — they're likely to have an honest answer.

The Kitchen at Priest Ranch is a one-winery show, and that's exactly the point. If you want to spend an evening exploring what a single Napa estate produces across whites, rosé, Zinfandel, Merlot, and multiple Cabernet expressions — including older large-format bottles — this is a genuinely interesting way to do it. Just don't come expecting breadth or outside discovery. Send a friend here if they love Priest Ranch or want to.
