Wingman Metrics
The Vandiver operates inside the Bridge Creek Inn under Ridgeline Hospitality management, and the wine list reflects a boutique hotel sensibility: curated, approachable, and with a genuine local emphasis. Ten-plus wines by the glass with consistent quality. The standout move is featuring Tiger Mountain Vineyards, the acclaimed North Georgia winery just minutes away. Having local, estate-quality wine on a restaurant list in its own region is exactly what a smart wine program does. The rest of the list covers familiar territory well: good Chardonnay, a couple of Cabs, interesting mid-range reds.
Dinner at The Vandiver feels like dining at a friend's very well-appointed mountain house. The setting inside Bridge Creek Inn is intimate, the kitchen leans into seasonal Southern cuisine with a modern edge, and the service is warm without being fussy. Weekend brunch with a glass of Tiger Mountain white on the porch is a legitimate reason to plan a trip.
The local wine angle sets The Vandiver apart. Featuring Tiger Mountain Vineyards in a town sitting in the middle of North Georgia's emerging wine country is a smart, distinctive move that most restaurants in this area haven't made. The list isn't the deepest, but the curation and local focus give it a personality that bigger lists sometimes lack.
🎲 The Bottom Line
The Vandiver pairs Tiger Mountain wines with boutique hotel dining in a mountain setting. The local wine commitment and smart curation earn it Wild Card status. Ask for the porch table.
LaPrade's Marina · Clayton · Pizza / Quick Service
Billy Goat Island once had a bottle list that punched way above its weight class for a marina pizza counter. Ownership changes and a winter closure leave the wine program in limbo. We will update when it reopens.

Lake Burton Cafe is a lakeside dive bar. The beer is cold, the setting is great, and the wine is irrelevant. That's not a criticism.

Downtown / Gratz Park · Lexington · New American / Southern
Jonathan at Gratz Park is the kind of reliable wine room you'd expect from a historic inn with a real sommelier — competent, well-stocked, and leaning safe. Pricing is on the steeper side and the list won't surprise you, but in Lexington, this is still one of the better places to order a full bottle with dinner.

33 Staves is a perfectly competent hotel wine list in a city where nobody's really coming for the wine. Drink it for what it is, keep your expectations calibrated, and save the serious bottle hunting for somewhere else.
