Clayton Cafe serves comfort food at diner prices, and the wine list matches. A few by-the-glass options from the usual suspects at budget-friendly prices. The selection doesn't try to impress, and the format doesn't demand it. This is a meat-and-three with wine available, not a wine destination.
The wine is afterthought-level, but so is the expectation. Nobody walks into Clayton Cafe expecting a curated wine program. The prices are fair, the food is the point, and the wine is there if you want it. Lazy but appropriately so.
