Wingman Metrics
Six bottles. That's the whole list. At a national steakhouse chain, you'd expect the usual Cab-heavy parade, but whoever built this thing clearly had other ideas. It reads less like a Palm wine list and more like a natural wine shop's curator dropped their picks and walked out.
What's here is genuinely interesting: Lucien Crochet's Le Chêne Sancerre, the Puzelat-Bonhomme from Loire, a Clos du Gravillas Minervois, Ferrando's Canavese Rosso, Ruth Lewandowski's Feints, and a Bois de Boursan Châteauneuf-du-Pape anchoring the top. That's a tight six-bottle roster that spans Loire, Rhône, Piedmont, Languedoc, and a natural-leaning California outlier — more geographic range than most lists three times its size. The glaring omission is any kind of big domestic Cabernet, which is either a bold move or an oversight at a steakhouse. Either way, the producers chosen have genuine credibility in the natural and artisan wine world.
By-the-glass options aren't documented, so we can't tell you what's pouring by the stem. With only six bottles on the list, it's reasonable to assume most of the program is bottle-focused, but we wouldn't count on a deep pour selection when you sit down.
The Bottom Line
The Palm Charlotte's wine list is a six-bottle natural wine curio hiding inside a chain steakhouse, and it's more interesting than it has any right to be. The Crochet Sancerre at $23 alone is worth the detour. Don't expect breadth, staff guidance, or a by-the-glass program worth writing home about — but if you know what you're looking at, this short list punches well above its weight.

Chima is clearly a steakhouse that sells meat and uses wine as an afterthought. Order the beef, have a caipirinha, and save your wine enthusiasm for somewhere that returns the favor.

Caroline's isn't trying to be a wine destination — it's an oyster bar with California ambitions and prices that don't punish you for ordering well. Wednesday half-price wine night alone is worth putting in your rotation.

Plaza Midwood · Charlotte · Southern American, Steakhouse
Supperland is a genuinely wild place to drink wine — stained glass overhead, a cast iron skillet on the table, and a bottle of Tignanello on the list. The markups aren't generous and no sommelier is guiding you, but if you know what you're looking for, this Wine Spectator-recognized list delivers for a Southern steakhouse in a church.

Dean's is a dependable upscale steakhouse wine list that does exactly what it promises — California and Italy, done well, at prices that sting a little but don't embarrass anyone. Send a friend here if they want a proper Barolo with their ribeye; skip it if they're hunting for value or adventure.

Riverwalk · San Antonio · Steakhouse
Brenner's on the Riverwalk punches above the average tourist-strip steakhouse — 159 labels with real dessert wine depth and some genuine international range is nothing to dismiss. Pricing is likely steep given the location, and the list skews traditional, but if you know what you're looking for, there's something worth ordering here. Go in with a plan, skip the obvious bottles, and don't leave without looking at the dessert wine section.

· Las Vegas · Steakhouse
Strip House's all-by-the-glass format is smart for a Vegas crowd that wants to explore without committing, and the list has more personality than most hotel steakhouses — the Testamatta and the Lingua Franca Chardonnay prove someone made actual choices here. Prices skew high at the top end, but the $15–$25 tier offers genuine quality. Come for the steak, stay for the glass pours, and skip the Kosta Browne unless the night calls for it.

· Boston · Steakhouse
The Palm Boston's wine list reads like someone handed a natural wine buyer a steakhouse budget and said 'do something interesting' — and they did, with six well-chosen bottles at prices that won't wreck your evening. It's too small to call it a destination for wine, but it's too good to ignore if you're already here for dinner. Ask about what's available by the glass and go straight for the Crochet Sancerre.
