Walking into The Landsby's lobby bar, you don't expect to find a focused Santa Barbara County wine list that actually knows what it's doing — but here we are. The Scandinavian-minimalist design gives it a boutique hotel cool that most Solvang spots can't touch. It's the kind of place where you sit down for one glass and end up staying for three.
The list is tight — somewhere in the 20-35 bottle range — but it earns its keep by leaning hard into the backyard. Beckmen Vineyards Grenache, Brander Sauvignon Blanc, and Babcock Pinot Noir anchor a list that reads like a greatest-hits of Santa Ynez Valley and Sta. Rita Hills. There's no attempt to please everyone with a token Napa Cab and a random Pinot Grigio from who-knows-where — this list has a point of view. The gap is depth: beyond the headliners, you're not getting much bench, and wine tourists who've already done the Beckmen tasting room might want more discovery.
Eight to fourteen pours by the glass is a respectable range for a lobby bar, and the local rosé flight concept is a smart move in wine country — something to actually do with your hands while you decide what's next. Prices land between $14 and $20 a glass, which is honest for the neighborhood and the caliber of producers on offer. Rotation, however, appears static — don't expect a weekly surprise.
Brander Sauvignon Blanc — $14–$16/glass
Brander is one of Santa Ynez Valley's benchmark Sauvignon Blanc producers and at this price point you're drinking something that would cost you more at any wine bar in Los Angeles. Crisp, grounded, local — it's the easy yes on this list.
Local Santa Ynez Valley Rosé
Most people come in asking for Pinot or Grenache and walk right past the rosé. In a valley that grows some of California's best Grenache-based rosé, this is the one to order — especially on the patio at golden hour. Don't sleep on it.
Babcock Pinot Noir
Babcock is a solid producer and Sta. Rita Hills Pinot is legit, but at hotel-bar bottle pricing you're paying a premium for the ambiance. If Pinot is your move tonight, you're better off driving ten minutes to the source and buying direct — or ordering by the glass to keep it honest.
Beckmen Vineyards Grenache + Sliders
Beckmen's Grenache brings enough dark fruit and spice to stand up to a savory slider without bulldozing bar-snack simplicity. It's a relaxed, food-friendly red that doesn't demand a serious meal to show well — exactly right for the format here.
The Bottom Line
The Landsby Lobby Bar is the rare hotel wine stop worth sitting down for — a focused Santa Ynez list at fair prices in a genuinely good-looking room. If you're already in Solvang wine country, this is a solid landing pad before or after the tasting rooms, not an afterthought.

The Grill at the Ranch Course isn't a wine destination, but it's a smart, locally-honest list that respects its surroundings more than most golf course restaurants bother to. If you're already at Alisal Ranch, lean into the Santa Ynez producers and you'll drink well.

Trattoria Grappolo isn't trying to be a destination wine bar, and it doesn't need to be — it's a warm, well-run trattoria with a list that respects its address and feeds the food well. If you're in the Santa Ynez Valley and want local wines with good pasta, this is exactly the right call.

Full of Life Flatbread is the best argument for pulling off the freeway in Los Alamos — the food and the wine list are both punching way above what a casual flatbread spot has any business delivering. If you're driving through wine country and skipping this because it doesn't look like a tasting room, that's on you.
