The wine list here doesn't try to be anything it isn't — a tight, locally-anchored selection that fits the sun-and-sandwiches energy of a golf course grill. You're not going to find a deep cellar or a sommelier hovering nearby, but what's here points squarely at the Santa Ynez Valley out the window, and that counts for something. It's the kind of list that respects where it is geographically, even if it doesn't push very hard.
Thirty to sixty bottles, almost entirely drawn from Santa Barbara County and the Central Coast, which is exactly the right call for a ranch in Solvang. Zaca Mesa, Beckmen, and Cambria represent the local anchors, covering Chardonnay, Grenache, and Pinot Noir with genuine regional credibility. The gaps are real — don't come looking for old-world depth, natural wine tangents, or anything to geek out over — but within its lane, the list holds up. It reads like someone made smart, if conservative, choices and then left it alone.
Six to twelve pours by the glass, which is a respectable range for a casual grill format. The local-producer focus carries through here, so you're likely getting Santa Ynez and Santa Maria Valley wines in the glass rather than generic California filler. Rotation appears minimal — this is not a program that's swapping in new pours monthly — but the core options are solid enough for a round of golf or a lazy lunch.
Beckmen Vineyards Grenache — null
Beckmen is one of the Santa Ynez Valley's most consistent producers, and their Grenache consistently overdelivers for what it costs. At a golf course grill, finding a wine this regionally serious is a genuine win — order it before someone else does.
Zaca Mesa Chardonnay
Zaca Mesa is one of the oldest wineries in the Santa Ynez Valley and still one of the most underrated. Most people reaching for Chardonnay here will grab whatever sounds familiar, but this one has actual terroir behind it — grown in the valley you're sitting in the middle of.
Cambria Pinot Noir
Cambria is perfectly fine wine, but it's also widely distributed and available at your local grocery store. If you're going to drink Pinot at a ranch in Solvang, make it count — the Beckmen Grenache is a much more interesting use of your dinner budget.
Beckmen Vineyards Grenache + Burger
Grenache's bright red fruit and soft tannins handle a grilled beef patty without the wine going dark and heavy on you — it keeps things lively, especially in the heat of a Central Coast afternoon. The Rhône-style profile of Beckmen's version gives you enough structure to cut through the fat without overwhelming the simplicity of the dish.

The Grill at the Ranch Course isn't a wine destination, but it's a smart, locally-honest list that respects its surroundings more than most golf course restaurants bother to. If you're already at Alisal Ranch, lean into the Santa Ynez producers and you'll drink well.

Trattoria Grappolo isn't trying to be a destination wine bar, and it doesn't need to be — it's a warm, well-run trattoria with a list that respects its address and feeds the food well. If you're in the Santa Ynez Valley and want local wines with good pasta, this is exactly the right call.

Full of Life Flatbread is the best argument for pulling off the freeway in Los Alamos — the food and the wine list are both punching way above what a casual flatbread spot has any business delivering. If you're driving through wine country and skipping this because it doesn't look like a tasting room, that's on you.
