RagingWine reviewed The Kitchen at Del Valleβs wine list and gave it The Wild Card β RagingWineβs Vibe-Check rating. How RagingWine reviews wine lists β
Wingman Metrics
You're sitting on a winery's home turf, which means the wine list is essentially a curated tour of Del Valle's own production β no filler from a distributor's catalog, no random Malbec thrown in to appease the masses. It's tight, intentional, and completely local. For Livermore Valley die-hards, that's a feature, not a bug.
The list runs 20 to 40 bottles deep and stays squarely in Del Valle's own wheelhouse, leaning into Livermore Valley's strengths β Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, and Chardonnay lead the charge. Don't come here looking for a Chablis or a Willamette Pinot; that's not the point. What you get instead is genuine place-specific wine, made steps from where you're drinking it. The depth is modest, but the focus is honest β this is a winery doing winery things, and the list reflects that without apology.
Eight to fourteen pours by the glass is a respectable spread for a spot this size, and at a winery restaurant, you'd expect the pours to rotate with whatever's freshest or newly released. We'd push the staff on what's just come out of barrel or what they're pouring at the tasting room counter β that's where the real action tends to be.
Del Valle Winery Petite Sirah β $12
Petite Sirah is Livermore's calling card grape, and drinking it at the source β poured by the people who made it β is exactly the kind of experience you can't replicate at a steakhouse markup across town.
Del Valle Winery Chardonnay
Everyone reaches for the reds at a Livermore winery, but the Chardonnay deserves a second look. Livermore Valley's warm days and cool nights push stone fruit without going full butter bomb, and Del Valle's version tends to fly under the radar of first-time visitors.
Del Valle Winery Cabernet Sauvignon
It's the anchor of any Livermore list and probably the most ordered wine on the menu β which means it's also the safest, least interesting choice you could make. Try the Petite Sirah and thank us later.
Del Valle Winery Petite Sirah + Cheese and Charcuterie Board
Petite Sirah's inky tannins and dark fruit need something fatty and salty to keep them honest. A proper charcuterie spread β cured meats, aged hard cheese, a little mustard β does exactly that, and it keeps the afternoon from becoming a nap.
π² The Bottom Line
This is a winery cafe that knows exactly what it is: a love letter to Livermore Valley made with house wine and no pretense. If you want global range, go somewhere else β if you want to drink well on a sunny afternoon in the East Bay's best wine corridor, pull up a chair.
Downtown Livermore Β· Livermore Β· Italian, Seafood, Grill
Strizzi's isn't a wine destination, but it does right by its neighborhood with local Livermore pours at fair prices. Send your friend here if they want a solid Italian dinner with a decent glass β just point them toward the Cab Franc.

Blue Agave Club is first and foremost a tequila destination, but the wine list earns its place by betting on local Livermore producers and sneaking in a wild card or two. If you're eating here and skipping the wine entirely, you're missing a cheap way to drink well in wine country.

If you are already staying here and do not feel like driving, the Caposaldo Prosecco or Mirabelle will get the job done without too much damage. But this is Livermore β there are actual wine destinations within ten minutes that make this lobby bar look like it is not even trying.
