Wingman Metrics
You're in Hartland, Wisconsin — not exactly where you expect to find Dom Pérignon 2013 and Louis Roederer Cristal sitting on a wine list. The Commodore's list leans hard into Champagne, and it commits to that lane with enough depth to make it interesting. The rest of the list is thinner than the bubble count in that Prosecco.
Of the 68 labels on this list, the Champagne section is doing the heavy lifting — twelve-plus Champagne entries ranging from the crowd-pleasing Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label ($190/bottle) up to Cristal 2015 at $1,000/bottle, with solid mid-tier options like Gaston Chiquet Tradition 1er Cru ($160/bottle) and Pierre Gimonnet Cuis 1er Cru Blanc de Blancs ($168/bottle) for the grower-curious. There's also a nod to Alsace sparkling with Gustave Lorentz ($80/bottle) and Pierre Sparr Brut Rosé ($80/bottle), plus a California rep in Schramsberg Blanc de Blanc ($90/bottle). The still wine section appears to trail off quickly — only two Chardonnays documented, both California — so if you're not here for bubbles, the list doesn't give you much to work with. The French Bloom 0% Alcohol Sparkling Rosé ($120/bottle) is an interesting inclusion for the non-drinking table.
By-the-glass options are not documented from available sources, so we can't call this a by-the-glass destination. If you're coming here, plan around a bottle — the list is clearly built for it, and the Champagne-heavy format practically begs for a shared pour.
The Bottom Line
The Commodore is a Champagne list wearing a full-restaurant costume — if bubbles are your reason for coming, there's enough grower depth (Chiquet, Gimonnet) mixed in with the prestige bottles to make it a legitimate destination pour. But the markups are real, the still wine bench is thin, and we don't have enough visibility into the rest of the experience to call it more than a Wild Card worth knowing about if you're celebrating in the western suburbs of Milwaukee.
Memorial · Houston · Restaurant
A flexible list for Memorial's upscale tavern: 20 pours by the glass in 6 oz or 9 oz sizes, plus bottle sections for Burgundy, Bordeaux, Piedmont and Tuscany. Start with the $18 Condado de Haza Tempranillo or the $22 Girard Bourgogne by the glass, and look at the Bordeaux spotlight if you are ordering steak. This unrated guide covers the posted wine list, not service, storage or markups.
· Scottsdale · Restaurant
A long, Burgundy-and-Bordeaux-heavy list with a 24-pour glass page that starts at 13. Try the Maysara Momtazi Pinot Noir 2016 or the Sandy Cove Sauvignon Blanc from the glass page, and confirm what is open and what the two numbers mean. This unrated guide covers the posted wine list, not service, storage or markups.
· Providence · Restaurant
A mostly Italian and Californian list that is easy to scan but vague about what its two-price entries mean. Order the Terrazas Malbec or the Demarie Arneis, ask which price is the pour, and confirm current prices before you go. This unrated guide covers the posted wine list, not service, storage or markups.
