Wingman Metrics
Walking into The Celt, you're not expecting a wine destination — and that's fine, because nobody came here for that. It's a proper Irish pub in a historic downtown building with live music and the kind of energy that makes you want a pint. But the wine list exists, it's priced honestly, and Wednesday makes it genuinely worth a second look.
The list runs about 10-20 bottles and leans entirely on approachable, recognizable names: Decoy, Matchbook, Blicks Lane. There's no adventurous detour into natural wine or obscure producers, and no deep cellar to speak of. The regional spread — California, New Zealand, Italy — covers the basics without overlap or ambition. What's here won't surprise you, but it also won't embarrass you.
You're looking at five to eight pours in the $9 to $11.50 range, which is genuinely reasonable for a pub setting. The lineup rotates between a sparkling, a white, a Sauvignon Blanc, a Pinot Noir, and a Cab — the whole family. No standout glass option, but no dead weight either.
Blicks Lane Sauvignon Blanc — $9.00
New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc at nine bucks a glass is hard to argue with — and on Wednesday, it drops even further. Crisp, easy, and exactly what you want when the fish and chips arrive.
Bassano Blanc De Blanc Brut
An Italian sparkling at a pub is exactly the kind of thing people walk past without a second glance. Don't. At $9.50 it's the most interesting thing on the list, and it holds up better against pub food than you'd think.
Decoy Pinot Noir
At $11.50 it's the priciest glass on the menu, and Decoy is a brand you've had before. Nothing wrong with it, but in this context you're paying a premium for a label, not an experience.
Blicks Lane Sauvignon Blanc + Fish & Chips
The bright acidity in the Sauvignon Blanc cuts right through the batter and keeps things from getting heavy. It's not complicated — it just works.
Wednesday — $2 off glasses of wine and 30% off bottles every Wednesday; also included in daily happy hour from 4–6 pm and 10–11 pm Tuesday–Thursday.
✔️ The Bottom Line
The Celt isn't a wine bar and isn't trying to be, but the list is honest, the prices are fair, and Wednesday turns a decent glass into a genuinely good deal. Come for the pub, stay for the Sauvignon Blanc.
Idaho Falls · Idaho Falls · Steakhouse / Seafood / American
Jakers isn't going to win any wine awards, but for a steakhouse in Idaho Falls it punches above its weight on value — especially during happy hour when half-price house wines make a pre-dinner glass genuinely hard to argue with. Send a friend here for a steak night and point them toward the Willamette Pinot or the Lan Crianza; they'll thank you.

Buffalo Wild Wings Idaho Falls is a perfectly fine place to watch a game and eat wings — just don't let the wine list anywhere near your evening. Order a beer, order a cocktail, order a second order of wings. The wine program is an afterthought and it shows in every bottle markup and unbranded house pour.

Junkyard Bistro's wine list is doing the bare minimum — recognizable names, steep markups on the top shelf, and nothing to make you put down your phone and pay attention. Drink the St. Chappelle, skip the Cakebread Cab at that price, and save your serious wine curiosity for somewhere that earns it.

The SnakeBite isn't a wine destination, but it's a Wild Card worth knowing about — a downtown burger joint that bothered to build a real wine list with fair prices and decent range. Come for the burgers, stay for the Pessimist.

Smokin Fins isn't a wine destination, but it's a competent one — the list is safe, a little overpriced, and built to please rather than impress. Order the Kim Crawford, eat the ahi tuna, and you'll leave happy enough.

Jaker's isn't a wine destination, but it's not trying to be one — it's a solid neighborhood steakhouse with a wine list that does exactly what it needs to do. Send a friend here confident they won't be gouged or confused, just fed and poured reasonably well.
