Walking into The Blind Monk, the wine list feels like someone actually cared β a focused, natural-leaning selection that has no business existing this confidently in a strip of West Palm Beach restaurant row. It's intimate, a little dim, and the list itself reads like a conversation starter rather than a laminated afterthought. This is a wine bar that knows what it is.
Over 50 bottles covering a pan-European and U.S. natural wine spread β we're talking Burgundy village-level Pinot from FranΓ§ois Buffet and Coste-Caumartin sitting alongside Santa Barbara Chardonnay from Presqu'ile and a Bloodroot Cab Sav from Sonoma. The list isn't trying to cover every region on the map; it's curated with intention, and that restraint is actually a feature. That said, if you want depth in RhΓ΄ne, Iberia, or anything from the Southern Hemisphere, you're going to feel the gaps. What's here is good β but the list stops short of being truly comprehensive.
Twenty-two by-the-glass options is genuinely impressive for a room this size, and it signals that The Blind Monk wants you to explore rather than just default to a bottle. The range spans Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc among others, at $12β$24 a pour β reasonable for a curated natural program, though the top end of that range starts to feel like bottle territory fast. Rotation details aren't well-documented publicly, which is a missed opportunity to generate buzz.
Presqu'ile Chardonnay Santa Barbara 2023 β $72
Presqu'ile is a legitimately respected Santa Barbara producer whose Chardonnay retails in the $30β$35 range β so yes, the markup stings, but in the context of a natural wine bar in South Florida, this is the bottle that punches above its weight on quality and gives you the most to talk about at the table.
Ercole Moscato d'Asti 2023
Most people see Moscato and think grocery store sweetness β Ercole is a small, quality-focused Piemontese producer making the real thing: low alcohol, gently fizzy, genuinely food-friendly. Order it with the cheese board and watch people convert.
Coste-Caumartin Pommard Pinot Noir 2022
At $225 a bottle, this is the list's aspirational anchor β and while Coste-Caumartin is a legitimate Pommard producer, dropping that kind of money in a casual no-reservations wine bar without proper cellar verification or a knowledgeable staff to guide you through it is a gamble we wouldn't take. Save the Premier Cru budget for somewhere with the infrastructure to back it up.
Bloodroot Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma 2022 + Cheese and charcuterie board
A Sonoma Cab Sav at this price point is going to have enough structure and dark fruit to stand up to aged cheeses and cured meats without overwhelming the table. It's the move when you're sharing plates and want one bottle that works for everyone.
π² The Bottom Line
The Blind Monk is the kind of place West Palm Beach didn't know it needed β a genuine natural wine bar with a thoughtful list and a low-key atmosphere that makes you want to stay for another pour. The markups keep it from being a true Rager, but as a Wild Card in a city not exactly known for its wine culture, it absolutely earns a visit.
The Square / Downtown Β· West Palm Beach Β· Italian trattoria
Il Bellagio is a perfectly decent place to drink Italian wine with Italian food on a warm West Palm Beach evening β just don't expect the list to surprise you, and steer clear of the Santa Margherita markup. Order the Chianti, grab a table on the plaza, and call it a reliable night out.

PLANTA West Palm Beach won't disappoint you on wine, but it won't thrill you either β the list is safe, the markups are mostly steep, and the picks are designed for consensus. Come for the food, order the Whispering Angel, and don't overthink it.

Felice earns its keep with a genuinely Italy-focused list, a Tignanello markup that won't make you wince, and a Monday wine program that should be on your weekly calendar. Not groundbreaking, but reliably good β and in this neighborhood, that's not nothing.

Grato is a reliable wine list for a neighborhood Italian that punches above its weight in by-the-glass options and producer selection β just know the markups skew steep on anything recognizable. Send a friend here for the Pinot and the pasta, not the prestige bottles.
