You don't walk into a Lancaster steakhouse expecting Bandol rosé, Etna Bianco, and a Manzanilla Sherry on the same list — but here we are. The Belvedere Inn's wine program hits you like a pleasant ambush: it looks like a nice restaurant list until you realize someone behind this thing actually cares. That someone has taste.
Sixty-six labels is a respectable count, but what makes this list sing is the range of conviction behind the picks. You've got Grüner Veltliner from Hiedler, Albarino from Do Ferreiro, Champalou Vouvray, and Louis Michel Chablis Premier Cru sitting alongside Baudry-Dutour Chinon and Gregoire Hoppenot Fleurie — this is a list that leans hard into the Loire and Burgundy adjacents without ignoring Sicily or the Rhône. The red side brings in Elio Altare's Langhe Nebbiolo and Paul Lato's California Pinot alongside a Cotes-du-Rhône that earns its place. Gaps exist — the bottle list beyond by-the-glass isn't fully surfaced here — but what's visible punches well above what Central Pennsylvania usually serves up.
Thirty-four by-the-glass options is genuinely impressive and functionally doubles as the full experience here, especially with a Coravin section unlocking access to bottles that would otherwise stay corked. The range runs from $8 sparkling cider (yes, really) to a $35 Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé pour, with serious stops along the way at $18 for the Etna Bianco and the Sancerre. Rotation cadence is unclear, but the depth of what's currently on pour makes this a by-the-glass destination in its own right.
Gregoire Hoppenot Fleurie Origines 2020 — $15/glass
Fleurie from a grower producer at $15 a glass is a quiet win. This is the kind of Beaujolais that converts skeptics — structured, floral, and serious without being precious. At this price, it's the easiest yes on the list.
La Cigarrera Manzanilla Sherry
Most tables will walk right past a $10 Manzanilla and order another Chardonnay. Don't. La Cigarrera is a legit producer from Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and a chilled glass of this with anything from the sea is one of the better decisions you can make at dinner. The fact that it's even on this list is its own kind of flex.
Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé
It's a great Champagne — no argument there — but $35 a glass is the kind of price that makes sense if you're celebrating and someone else is paying. You can land a full bottle of something equally exciting for the same money. Save the Billecart for someone's birthday.
Do Ferreiro Albarino 2021 + Seafood (oysters or grilled fish)
Do Ferreiro is one of the benchmark Albarino producers in Rías Baixas — saline, citrus-driven, and built for the ocean. At $18 a glass it's a no-brainer alongside anything from the seafood side of a steak-and-seafood menu. Coastal wine, coastal ingredients.
The Bottom Line
The Belvedere Inn is doing something quietly remarkable for a Lancaster steakhouse: building a wine list that would hold its own in a major city. Send a friend here — just make sure they skip the sparkling wine math and order the Fleurie.

Waltz Vineyards is a solid local winery doing honest work with Pennsylvania fruit and keeping prices in a range that makes experimentation easy. If you're in Lancaster and want to drink local without getting gouged, this is the right stop.
