Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Texas Roadhouse Idaho Falls is about what you'd expect from a chain that built its reputation on free bread and country music — it's an afterthought dressed up in a laminated menu insert. There are maybe a dozen options, and the names will feel very familiar if you've ever browsed the $8 section at Walmart.
This is a California domestic-only situation, anchored entirely by mass-market brands that move product by the truckload rather than by any measure of quality or character. Barefoot, Woodbridge, and Sutter Home are the headliners — reliable in the sense that you know exactly what you're getting, which is wine designed to offend no one and excite no one. There's no regional exploration, no interesting producers, no anything that suggests someone with wine knowledge had any input here. The list exists to say the list exists.
Six to ten options by the glass in the $6–$10 range, which is at least priced honestly for what's being poured. Don't expect any rotation or seasonal thinking — this list is set-and-forget, the same pours whether it's January or July. At these prices you're not losing money, but you're also not gaining much.
Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Chardonnay — $7
If you're going wine at all, this is the least offensive play on the list. It's inoffensive, chilled, and at this price point you're not betting much on the outcome.
Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon
Calling it a gem is a stretch, but next to a $20 ribeye, a glass of Barefoot Cab is actually a functional pairing — it's soft, fruit-forward, and won't fight the beef. Most people grab a beer; this is the wine drinker's equivalent of playing it safe and still surviving the night.
Sutter Home White Zinfandel
This is pink, sweet, and has no business being within 10 feet of a hand-cut steak. If you want something sweet, get one of their dessert rolls. The White Zin is here purely for nostalgia and should stay there.
Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon + Ft. Worth Ribeye
The Cab is soft enough not to clash with the char on a well-seasoned ribeye, and the fruit weight matches the richness of the cut. It's not a transcendent experience, but it's the most coherent wine-and-food moment this list is capable of producing.
❌ The Bottom Line
Texas Roadhouse is not a wine destination — it's a steak-and-rolls destination, and the wine list knows it. Order the ribeye, get a beer, and save your wine curiosity for somewhere that shares it.

Jakers isn't going to win any wine awards, but for a steakhouse in Idaho Falls it punches above its weight on value — especially during happy hour when half-price house wines make a pre-dinner glass genuinely hard to argue with. Send a friend here for a steak night and point them toward the Willamette Pinot or the Lan Crianza; they'll thank you.

Buffalo Wild Wings Idaho Falls is a perfectly fine place to watch a game and eat wings — just don't let the wine list anywhere near your evening. Order a beer, order a cocktail, order a second order of wings. The wine program is an afterthought and it shows in every bottle markup and unbranded house pour.

Junkyard Bistro's wine list is doing the bare minimum — recognizable names, steep markups on the top shelf, and nothing to make you put down your phone and pay attention. Drink the St. Chappelle, skip the Cakebread Cab at that price, and save your serious wine curiosity for somewhere that earns it.

The SnakeBite isn't a wine destination, but it's a Wild Card worth knowing about — a downtown burger joint that bothered to build a real wine list with fair prices and decent range. Come for the burgers, stay for the Pessimist.

Smokin Fins isn't a wine destination, but it's a competent one — the list is safe, a little overpriced, and built to please rather than impress. Order the Kim Crawford, eat the ahi tuna, and you'll leave happy enough.

Jaker's isn't a wine destination, but it's not trying to be one — it's a solid neighborhood steakhouse with a wine list that does exactly what it needs to do. Send a friend here confident they won't be gouged or confused, just fed and poured reasonably well.
