The wine list at Texas Roadhouse Denton reads like someone photographed the bottom shelf at Total Wine and called it a beverage program. There's no pretense here — this is a chain doing chain things, and wine is clearly an afterthought behind the frozen margaritas and longnecks. If you came hoping for something interesting to drink with your ribeye, temper those expectations hard.
The list is essentially a who's who of mass-market California producers: Barefoot, Cupcake, Dark Horse, Apothic, Mirassou — names you recognize because they advertise on network television, not because they're worth seeking out. Yellow Tail Cabernet represents the lone international entry, and Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio checks the obligatory Italian box without any real conviction. There are no regional surprises, no small producers, no Texas wines despite being, you know, in Texas. The whole thing is chain-mandated and shipped nationwide, with zero curation specific to the Denton location.
Everything on the list appears to be available by the glass, which is generous in volume if not in quality. Rotation is nonexistent — this is a static, corporate-approved menu that hasn't been reconsidered since someone in Louisville signed off on it. The best strategy by the glass is ordering the cheapest pour and not overthinking it.
Dark Horse Cabernet Sauvignon — Unknown
Dark Horse is at least a step above some of its list-mates in terms of actual flavor — it's a decent everyday Cab that can hold its own against a steak without embarrassing anyone. If you're drinking wine here, this is your least-bad option.
Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay
Not exciting by any stretch, but KJ Vintner's Reserve is a legitimately competent Chardonnay that consistently delivers what it promises — ripe fruit, light oak, no surprises. On a list this flat, consistency is its own kind of gem.
Barefoot Moscato
Sweet, simple, and priced at a restaurant markup for something you can grab at a gas station for under $8 retail. No shame in liking Moscato, but there's no reason to pay steakhouse prices for this one.
Dark Horse Cabernet Sauvignon + Ribeye
The ribeye's fat and char need something with enough fruit and structure to keep up — Dark Horse Cab is blunt enough to not get lost, and it's the closest thing to a proper steak wine on this list.

Texas Roadhouse Denton is not a wine destination — it's a rolls-and-steak destination, and that's completely fine. Order the cocktail, drink the beer, and save your wine enthusiasm for somewhere that returns the favor.

BJ's Denton is a beer hall that happens to stock wine, and the list makes that priority crystal clear. If you must drink wine here, come on a Tuesday — Half Off Wine Tuesday is the one thing this program does that actually earns a tip of the glass.
