The wine list at Chili's Denton isn't really a wine list — it's a receipt from a grocery store endcap. Barefoot, Yellow Tail, Canyon Road, Cupcake: these are brands you recognize because they're stacked near the checkout lane, not because anyone sought them out. It tells you everything you need to know about the ambition level here.
The entire program is corporate-mandated and chain-wide, meaning the Denton location has zero say in what lands on this list. You've got California mass-market brands covering the basics — Chardonnay, Moscato, Cab, a red blend — plus one token Italian (Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio) and Yellow Tail flying the flag for Australia. There's no old-world depth, no regional Texas producer representation, no natural wine curiosity, nothing that would cause even mild surprise. The 14 Hands Hot to Trot Red Blend is the most interesting name on the list, which tells you something.
The by-the-glass lineup is five options deep at most — Beringer White Zinfandel, Canyon Road Moscato, Canyon Road Chardonnay, Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio, and Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay. Happy hour drops the house pours to around $5, but calling these wines isn't the point — you're just choosing which supermarket brand to tolerate for the evening. There's no rotation, no seasonal refresh, no sign that anyone has thought about this program since it was loaded into the POS system.
Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay — $7
It's the only pour on the glass list with a shred of name recognition for the right reasons. KJ Vintner's Reserve is mass-produced but consistently clean — it's the closest thing to an honest glass of Chardonnay you'll find here, and at happy hour pricing it at least doesn't sting.
Ecco Domani Pinot Grigio
Not exciting by any stretch, but Ecco Domani is one of the more drinkable options on this list — light, crisp, and inoffensive in a way that actually suits the food. Most people will walk past it for the Chardonnay, which makes it the relative sleeper pick in a very shallow field.
Beringer White Zinfandel
At a 900%-range markup on a bottle that retails for under $6, you're paying restaurant prices for a wine that belongs at a school fundraiser. There is no version of this glass that represents good value or good wine. Order a margarita instead.
14 Hands Hot to Trot Red Blend + Fajitas
Hot to Trot is a soft, fruit-forward Washington red blend — a little sweet, medium-bodied, and low on tannin. It won't fight the char and spice on the fajita meat, and the residual fruit actually plays reasonably well against the peppers and onions. It's not a revelation, but it's the most logical match on a list with limited options.
❌ The Bottom Line
This wine program exists to check a box, not to enhance your meal — if you're at Chili's Denton for the wine, something has gone wrong. Stick to the margaritas, which is almost certainly what the restaurant intended all along.

Hoochies is an oyster bar first and a wine destination never, but the list is functional enough that you won't feel stranded. Order the catfish, grab a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, and save the wine deep-dive for another night.

Cheddar's wine program exists to check a box, not to serve you well. Order a cocktail or a beer — they've actually put thought into those — and save the wine for a restaurant that cares.

BJ's Denton is a beer hall that happens to stock wine, and the list makes that priority crystal clear. If you must drink wine here, come on a Tuesday — Half Off Wine Tuesday is the one thing this program does that actually earns a tip of the glass.

Saltgrass Denton is a solid place to eat a steak; it is not a place to drink wine. Order a Shiner, grab the J. Lohr if you need something in a glass, and save your wine curiosity for somewhere that shares it.

Texas Roadhouse Denton is not a wine destination — it's a rolls-and-steak destination, and that's completely fine. Order the cocktail, drink the beer, and save your wine enthusiasm for somewhere that returns the favor.

Olive Garden Denton's wine list is what happens when a corporate committee designs a menu for the broadest possible audience and then never revisits it. Come for the breadsticks and the Zuppa Toscana — but if you care about what's in your glass, you already know this isn't your spot.
