The wine list at Texas Roadhouse Columbus arrives as an afterthought — a laminated insert tucked behind the cocktail menu like it's embarrassed to be there. About a dozen options, zero surprises, and a strong sense that whoever built this list did so in about 15 minutes on a Tuesday afternoon. If you came here for wine, we need to have a talk.
This is a California-Washington greatest hits compilation of supermarket staples: Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi, Josh Cellars, Sutter Home, and Chateau Ste. Michelle. There is no depth, no old-world representation, no interesting producers, and no attempt to match the wine program to a menu built around hand-cut steaks that genuinely deserve better. Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling is the one slightly interesting entry — a solid, widely available Washington State wine that at least shows someone briefly considered the menu. Beyond that, this is a list that exists because a steakhouse legally has to have one.
Six to ten pours available, which sounds reasonable until you realize they're all the same entry-level bottles you've seen at every chain in America. Pricing stays in the $6–$10 range per glass, which is at least honest — they're not dressing these up as something worth $14. Rotation appears nonexistent; what's on the list today was probably on it two years ago.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling — $7
At under $10 a glass, this is the only wine on the list with genuine character. Off-dry, crisp, and versatile enough to cut through the richness of anything on this menu. Low bar, but it clears it.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling
Nobody orders Riesling at Texas Roadhouse, which is exactly why you should. It's the one pick that wasn't chosen by committee and autopilot — and it's a legitimate producer with real winemaking behind it.
Sutter Home White Zinfandel
This is a wine that peaked in 1988 and has been coasting ever since. Sweet, thin, and better suited to a gas station cooler than a steakhouse table. Hard pass.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling + Fall-Off-The-Bone Ribs
The slight sweetness in the Riesling plays off the smoky-sweet BBQ sauce on the ribs, while the acidity keeps your palate from going full sugar overload. It's the one genuinely useful wine moment this list offers.
❌ The Bottom Line
Texas Roadhouse is not here to sell you wine, and the list makes that abundantly clear. Stick to the beer, the cocktails, or the Riesling if you insist — but don't come here with serious wine expectations.
North Columbus / Whittlesey Boulevard · Columbus · Modern American
Ivory & Oak is a reliable wine stop in a city that isn't exactly crawling with serious lists — the room is great, the pours are familiar, and the markup is the main thing holding it back from something better. Go for the steak, order the Merlot, and don't expect to be challenged.

If you're stuck at the DoubleTree and the flight is delayed, Houlihan's will keep you fed and adequately watered — but don't mistake that for a wine program worth seeking out. Order the Etude Pinot or the Malbec, skip the sangria, and manage your expectations accordingly.

Airport / East Columbus · Columbus · American Bar & Grill
This is airport-adjacent chain wine, full stop — familiar labels at inflated prices for a captive audience that mostly wants something cold and wet after traveling. Order a cocktail instead, or hit the hotel bar and call it a night.

Uptown · Columbus · Pub
The Rail Pub is not here to advance your wine education, and that's fine — it's a pub, it sells beer, and the wine list exists as an afterthought for the table that didn't want beer. Order the J. Lohr if you need a glass of something real; otherwise, get a pint and stop looking at the wine menu.

Midtown · Columbus · Upscale American Sports Bar
The Office is a solid sports bar with a real food program, but the wine list is an afterthought at best — two house pours do not constitute a program. Come for the pork chops and live music, order a cocktail or a beer, and don't expect anyone on staff to talk you through a vintage.

Chili's Columbus is not a wine destination — it's a margarita destination that happens to stock two anonymous house wines for guests who forgot to order a cocktail. Drink accordingly.
