Wingman Metrics
Walk into Standing Stone expecting beer β and you should, because the beer is the point β but the wine list quietly earns a second look. Thirteen labels, almost all Oregon, almost all from producers within a short drive of Ashland. It's not trying to be a wine bar, and that's exactly why it works.
This is a hyper-local Oregon list done with genuine intention. The Rogue Valley and Applegate Valley producers β Wooldridge Creek, Quady North, Kriselle Cellars, Roxy Ann β represent the region's best without reaching for prestige names nobody in a brewpub is actually ordering. Willamette Valley gets its due with Argyle Pinot Noir and Stoller Chardonnay, two workhorses that hold up in any context. The gaps are obvious: no RosΓ©, no sparkling beyond the Wycliff Brut (a budget California bubbly that sticks out like a keg at a tasting room), and zero Old World representation. But for a brewpub anchoring downtown Ashland, the list punches above its weight class.
Ten of the thirteen labels pour by the glass, which is a genuinely generous ratio for a pub setting. Prices run $6β$11, landing squarely in the 'no hesitation' zone for a casual dinner. There's no visible rotation program β what's on the list appears to be what's on the list, full stop.
Quady North Winery Syrah, Rogue Valley β $11/glass
Quady North is one of the Rogue Valley's most serious producers, and getting their Syrah by the glass at $11 in a brewpub is a genuine win. You'd pay twice that at a wine bar down the road.
Wooldridge Creek Winery Tempranillo, Applegate Valley
Most people at a brewpub are going to default to Pinot or Cab. The Wooldridge Creek Tempranillo from Applegate Valley is the move β a Spanish grape thriving in Southern Oregon that most guests will walk right past without a second thought.
Wycliff Brut Champagne, California
At $6/glass it's technically cheap, but Wycliff is grocery-store sparkling with a shelf life of a gas station stop. Every other wine on this list has a sense of place. This one doesn't belong here.
Wooldridge Creek Winery Viognier, Applegate Valley + Fish and chips
Viognier's stone fruit and floral notes cut through the fried batter without fighting the fish β and an Applegate Valley pour feels right at home in an Ashland pub on a warm evening.
π² The Bottom Line
Standing Stone won't make you forget you're in a brewpub, but the wine list is a quiet, locally-focused overachiever that treats Southern Oregon producers with real respect. If you're skipping the beer, you're not stuck with bad options β and that alone puts it ahead of most places serving pints.

East Ashland Hills Β· Ashland Β· Wine country fine dining / contemporary American
Belle Fiore is a destination, not a stopover β and the wine program knows it. If you're willing to let Southern Oregon do all the talking for an afternoon, this list rewards that trust. Just don't come expecting to wander the Old World.

You're not coming to Rogue Valley Roasting Company for a wine-focused evening β but if you're in Ashland, want a glass of legit local wine without the prix-fixe atmosphere, and don't mind that the list tops out at three options, this is a surprisingly honest little pour stop. Send a friend here? Sure, if they need a break from the Shakespeare crowd.

Downtown / Creekside Β· Ashland Β· Pizza
Creekside Pizza isn't a wine destination, but it doesn't pretend to be β and at these prices in this market, the honest, unpretentious list earns a pass. Send a friend here if they want something decent to drink without a lecture or a markup.

Downtown Β· Ashland Β· Japanese
Little Tokyo is a solid casual Japanese spot that simply doesn't do wine β and that's fine, because their sake is where the real action is. Come for the sushi, drink the sake, and don't stress about the wine list.

Downtown Β· Ashland Β· American theatre dining
We wouldn't drive to Ashland for the wine list, but it's a genuinely pleasant surprise inside a dinner theatre β local, fairly priced, and more considered than it needs to be. If you're already going for the show, drink the Pinot and enjoy yourself.
