Wingman Metrics
Walking into SOMA, you immediately clock that this isn't a restaurant wine list β it's a winery that decided to put down roots in Fort Worth and pour you something they actually made. The menu is tight and house-focused, which either excites you or sends you running for the nearest steakhouse wine cellar. We think it's worth staying.
SOMA keeps it focused: somewhere between 10 and 20 SKUs, all under the Soma label, drawing from Texas and California fruit. You've got your sparkling (the Brut CuvΓ©e), whites (Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay Reserve), a RosΓ©, and reds anchored by Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Don't come looking for Burgundy or Barolo β that's not what this is. What it is, is a curated house program with a clear point of view, which in a sea of lazy lists padded with bulk imports, is actually refreshing. The Chardonnay Reserve signals some ambition beyond the easy stuff.
With 8 to 14 pours available by the glass, the entire lineup is essentially your playground β which makes sense when every bottle on the list is theirs anyway. Rotating what's pouring on a given night appears limited, so don't expect a constantly evolving glass program. But the upside is that the staff knows exactly what's in every glass because they only have one producer to talk about.
Soma RosΓ© β $$
Texas RosΓ© at a winery that makes it themselves means you're cutting out every middleman in the supply chain. No import markup, no distributor margin β just the people who grew and bottled it pouring it directly into your glass. In a tasting room setting, that's about as value-forward as it gets.
Soma Chardonnay Reserve
Most people walk into a Texas winery and reach for the Cab or the Shiraz without a second thought. The Chardonnay Reserve is the one that's actually trying to say something β 'Reserve' in a small-production house program means someone spent real time on it. Skipping it in favor of the obvious reds would be a mistake.
Soma Cabernet Sauvignon
Texas Cabernet has come a long way, but it's still the default order for anyone not paying attention β and that means it's doing the heavy lifting for this list without necessarily being its strongest expression. If you're here for the first time, there are more interesting stories on this list worth exploring before you land on the Cab.
Soma Shiraz + Texas BBQ charcuterie board
A Texas-grown Shiraz with the kind of dark fruit and peppery backbone the grape is known for is practically begging to sit next to smoked meats and cured bites. The winery's social, snacky tasting room vibe makes a charcuterie spread the natural move, and the Shiraz handles it without flinching.
π² The Bottom Line
SOMA is a legit Wild Card β a real urban winery doing its own thing in a city better known for ribeyes than Roussanne. If you go in expecting a deep multi-region list, you'll be disappointed; if you go in curious about what Fort Worth is capable of producing under its own label, you'll leave impressed.

Teddy Wongs is the kind of place that shouldn't work on paper β dumplings, Fort Worth, Wine Spectator award β and yet here we are. If you let the list guide you toward Alsace or Texas instead of defaulting to the California crowd-pleasers, you'll eat and drink extremely well for the money.

Don Artemio is doing something genuinely unusual in Texas steakhouse territory: building a wine list around Mexican producers that deserve serious attention, backed by a sommelier who knows the material. If you care at all about wine, skip the Napa defaults and let Adrian point you toward Baja β you won't regret it.

Grace is the real deal β a Fort Worth restaurant that has built and maintained a wine program worthy of the city's best table. The markups run steep and the list plays it safer than adventurous, but when the caliber is this high and the service is this dialed in, we're still sending every wine-serious friend through the door.

61 Osteria earned its Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence and then some β this is the most serious Italian wine list in Fort Worth by a significant margin. Markups aren't shy, but the depth of selection and the knowledge on the floor justify the room.

Buena Vida's wine list isn't going to win any awards, but Wednesday's 50% off bottle deal turns a steep, pedestrian selection into a genuinely fun night out. Come for the tacos, drink on a Wednesday, and don't overthink it.
