You drive up to a century-old ski lodge on a dirt road in the Colorado Rockies and the last thing you expect is a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence. Then the list lands on the table and you recalibrate fast. This place takes wine seriously in a setting that looks like it should be serving hot cocoa and calling it a night.
The 150-250 bottle list leans hard into California โ Caymus, Jordan, Stag's Leap, Duckhorn, and Opus One are all present and accounted for โ which makes sense given the clientele dropping resort money on a ski trip. France shows up respectably through Louis Jadot's Burgundy program, and there's enough Italian representation to round things out without stealing the spotlight. Grgich Hills Estate Chardonnay is a smart, quality-forward call in the white wine department. The gaps show up in natural wine, Southern Hemisphere, and anything adventurous below $60 โ this is a crowd-pleasing list that plays its lane very deliberately.
With 12-20 pours on offer, the by-the-glass program is a genuine asset at altitude โ you're not locked into a bottle when you've got a ski day tomorrow. Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling anchors the lighter end of the glass list and is consistently the smartest order in the room. We'd love to see more rotation here, but what's on works.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling โ $40
At the entry point of their price range, Ste. Michelle's Riesling is a sharp, food-friendly pour that holds its own against mountain-priced competition. Order it by the glass, order it twice.
Duckhorn Vineyards Merlot
Everyone at this table is ordering the Cabernet, and nobody's thinking about Duckhorn's Merlot โ which is exactly why you should. It's a more nuanced, food-flexible wine that plays better with the elk and lamb than any Cab on this list.
Opus One
Look, Opus One is a great wine. It's also a wine that gets marked up to the stratosphere the moment it appears on a resort property list. At Ski Tip, you're paying a premium on top of an already premium bottle. Save it for a restaurant that earns the price.
Jordan Vineyard & Winery Cabernet Sauvignon + Colorado rack of lamb
Jordan Cab is built for exactly this moment โ structured enough to match the richness of Colorado lamb, polished enough not to overpower it. It's a classic call that works every time in this room.
๐ฒ The Bottom Line
Ski Tip Lodge is the rare mountain lodge that earned its wine credentials rather than just buying a recognizable list. The markups sting and nobody on staff is going deep on terroir with you, but the bones are solid and the setting makes a good bottle taste better. Send your friends here โ just tell them to skip the Opus One.

RH Rooftop is a great place to drink wine you already know in a room that photographs extremely well โ just don't come expecting to discover anything. If you're a guest who wants reliability and a gorgeous sunset view, this delivers; if you're chasing depth or value, this list isn't going to find you.

Table 26 punches above its neighborhood weight with a list that has real ambition and a happy hour program that's one of the best deals in South Florida. The markup on the trophy tier is aggressive, but if you drink smart โ and especially if you show up before 6 PM โ this place absolutely delivers.

Henry's isn't a wine destination, but it's not pretending to be one either โ the list is familiar, the markups are fairer than you'd expect from a Breakers property, and the flight program gives you a reason to explore. Send your friends here for dinner without worrying they'll get gouged on wine.
