First Impression
The wine list at Sails reads like a Naples tourist brochure — safe, familiar, designed not to offend. It's the kind of list where you know exactly what you're getting before you even open it: California Chardonnay, Napa Cab, maybe a Whispering Angel for good measure.
Selection Deep Dive
The selection sticks to the greatest hits without much adventure. You'll find the usual suspects from Napa and Sonoma, some Italian standards like Antinori and Ruffino, and a Bordeaux or two that probably sit there collecting dust between snowbird seasons. There's enough here to pair with fresh grouper or a steak, but nothing that'll make you text your wine-nerd friends. The list plays it safe because the clientele wants safe — and in a waterfront Naples spot, that's probably the right call even if it's not exciting.
By the Glass
Glass pours lean predictable: a Cakebread Chardonnay here, a Caymus Cab there, prices that make you wince a bit given the pours are likely standard restaurant size. They rotate seasonally at best, which in Naples means twice a year when management remembers. You're not getting adventurous staff picks or natural wine experiments — just dependable bottles that won't generate complaints from the yacht club crowd.
Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc — $42
Marlborough classic that's crisp enough for Gulf seafood and priced where you expect it — not a steal, but not highway robbery either
Banfi Chianti Classico Riserva
Most tourists skip Italian reds in Florida, but this has the acidity to cut through grouper piccata and enough structure to feel like you're drinking real wine
Butter Chardonnay
Marked up to $48 for a bottle that retails for $18 — the name tells you everything about the crowd it's targeting, and you're paying premium for grocery store juice
Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc + Seared Scallops
The wine's grapefruit zip and minerality play perfectly with sweet scallops and any citrus butter sauce they're swimming in
✔️ The Bottom Line
Sails won't blow your mind, but it won't let you down either. It's competent coastal dining with a wine list built for tourists who want recognizable labels and servers who won't judge their pronunciation.
