Beach Views Better Than the Wine Situation

Wingman Metrics
The wine list reads like it was written in 2012 and nobody's touched it since. It's the kind of beachfront spot where the view does all the heavy lifting and the wine program coasts on vacation vibes and sunburned tourists who don't ask questions.
You're looking at the usual suspects: a Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay, a Meiomi Pinot, maybe a Ruffino Chianti if they're feeling adventurous. The list skews heavily toward recognizable grocery store labels with beach-town markups that sting harder than the jellyfish. There's no regional exploration, no interesting producers, and certainly nothing that suggests anyone on staff gets excited about wine. It's functional in the way a rental car is functional—it'll get you there, but you won't remember the ride.
The glass pours are what you'd expect: four whites, four reds, all name brands that could've been sourced from a Costco run. Rotation isn't really a thing here—these bottles probably sit until they're empty, which given the tourist traffic, happens faster than quality would suggest it should. The pours are generous, at least, which helps justify the $12-14 price tags on wines that retail for $8.
Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio — $42
Still overpriced, but at least it's cold, crisp, and pairs with the Gulf breeze better than the heavier alternatives
Steakhouse Red Blend (if they have one)
Generic but usually competent, and nobody orders it because they're here for rosé and Chardonnay—sometimes obscurity is protection
Any bottle over $60
The markup structure here means you're paying steakhouse prices at a casual beachfront joint—order a beer instead
Whispering Angel Rosé + Grilled Shrimp Tacos
The wine list's most predictable play actually works with citrusy Gulf shrimp—sometimes the obvious choice is obvious for a reason
❌ The Bottom Line
Come for the sand and sunset, not the wine program. If you're ordering wine here, stick to something cold, simple, and under $50, and remember you're paying a beach tax. This is a beer-and-margarita spot that happens to have wine.

Big Beach Brewing does what it says on the tin: brewing. The wine program is an obligatory checkbox, not a passion project. Order a flight, enjoy the Gulf coast vibes, and save your wine drinking for literally anywhere else.

This isn't a conventional wine program, and that's the whole point. If you're curious about what Gulf Coast viticulture tastes like, Perdido delivers an honest, place-driven experience you won't find anywhere else.

Rouses isn't where you'd go for wine education or rare finds, but for beach vacation provisioning, it's more than competent. Fair prices, decent selection, and it beats the hell out of the hotel gift shop.

Crab Claw does what it does well — casual Gulf seafood in a beach town setting. But the wine program is neglected, overpriced, and shows zero effort. Order the crabs, drink the beer, save wine for literally anywhere else.

The Boardwalk at Granite Park · Plano · Coastal American
On a normal night, this is a perfectly serviceable casual wine list at prices that won't make you wince. On Wednesday, with half-price wine and $6 flatbreads, it's one of the better deals in Plano — show up, order the Siduri, and don't overthink it.
