Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Ruby Tuesday Odessa isn't really a wine list — it's a footnote at the bottom of the drink menu. Two options, one producer, zero ambition. If you came here hoping to explore something interesting in a glass, recalibrate immediately.
The entire wine program is built on Canyon Road, a Central Valley brand you'll find at your local grocery store for around five bucks a bottle. There's a Chardonnay and a Cabernet Sauvignon — that's the list, beginning and end. No regions to explore, no variety by style or weight, no attempt to go beyond the most default California labels imaginable. This isn't a curated list; it's a checkbox.
Two by-the-glass pours: the Canyon Road Chardonnay and the Canyon Road Cabernet Sauvignon. You can get a 6 oz pour for $6 or upgrade to a 9 oz pour for $9. At least the pricing doesn't insult you — but the selection still manages to.
Canyon Road Cabernet Sauvignon — $9 (9oz)
If you're going to drink here, the 9 oz pour is the play. You're getting a lot of liquid for the money, and red wine with a burger or ribs at least makes contextual sense. Low bar, but it clears it.
Canyon Road Chardonnay
Not a gem by any stretch, but if you're eating from the salad bar and need something cold and inoffensive in your hand, this is technically the right call. Most people reflexively order the Cab — the Chard at least matches the lighter fare.
Canyon Road Cabernet Sauvignon
With the baby back ribs, this feels like it should work — but Canyon Road Cab is thin, over-sweetened, and just not up to the job. You're better off ordering a beer or a cocktail and saving yourself the mild disappointment.
Canyon Road Chardonnay + Salad Bar
Light, cold, and neutral enough not to fight with a plate of greens and ranch dressing. It's not a pairing so much as a mutual non-aggression pact, but in this context, that's the best outcome available.
❌ The Bottom Line
Ruby Tuesday Odessa is not a wine destination — and it has absolutely no interest in becoming one. Order a cocktail, lean into the salad bar, and don't come here with a corkscrew in your heart.
West Odessa · Odessa · Mexican
Mi Casa is a place you go for the food — and the food is probably earning its keep. The wine list is purely functional, a last-minute add-on that no one's tended to in a while. Stick to the margaritas.

Barrel & Derrick's private dining room wine list does exactly what it's designed to do: keep oil executives and convention guests comfortable with names they recognize at prices their companies will reimburse. If you're paying out of pocket and actually care about what's in your glass, focus on Penner-Ash or the Amarone and steer hard away from the Silver Oak Napa at $440.

Red Oak Kitchen's wine program punches above its weight for West Texas — a thoughtful small list with some real finds buried under the obligatory Napa names. Markups keep it from being a steal, but the Social Hour pricing and the William Chris collab give you real reasons to order a bottle instead of a cocktail.

Red Oak Steakhouse is punching well above its weight class for Odessa — the list is small but curated with real intent, and the by-the-glass pricing keeps it accessible. Send a wine-curious friend here; they'll be pleasantly thrown off.

Buffalo Wild Wings Odessa is not a wine destination — it's a wings-and-beer operation that happens to stock a canned Pinot Noir as a corporate checkbox. If you're with a group and someone insists on wine, the Archer Roose won't ruin your night, but don't come here for the list.

Outback Odessa's wine program exists because a restaurant has to have one, not because anyone here cares about it. Order a beer or a cocktail, save the wine for somewhere that's earned it.

Applebee's is not a wine destination, and the Lakeland location doesn't pretend otherwise — which is almost a point in its favor. Order a cocktail, enjoy the wings, and save the wine drinking for somewhere that actually cares.

Chili's wine list exists to check a box, not to enhance your dinner. Order a margarita — it's what they actually care about — and save the wine conversation for somewhere that's having it back.

BJ's is a brewpub, and the wine program knows it — it doesn't try very hard and doesn't need to. Show up on a Tuesday for half-off bottles if you must, but if wine is why you're going out tonight, go somewhere else.
