Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Cheddar's Hot Springs arrives looking exactly like you'd expect from a chain that puts more creative energy into its Monte Cristo than its beverage program. It's short, California-heavy, and reads like someone grabbed the top-sellers off a supermarket endcap. To be fair, the prices are low enough that it's hard to get too worked up about it.
Fifteen to twenty-five bottles, all California, all household names — Kendall-Jackson, Woodbridge, Barefoot, Meiomi, Mirassou. There's no sense that anyone curated this list so much as accepted the default chain package from a national distributor. You won't find a single wine here that challenges, surprises, or rewards any curiosity. The entire program could be replaced by a trip to Kroger with $40 and a ten-minute drive.
Six to ten pours by the glass, which is genuinely the most functional part of this list — low prices mean low stakes. At $5.49 to $7.49 a glass, you're not betting much on any one pour. Rotation appears nonexistent; this is a set-and-forget program that probably hasn't changed in years.
Mirassou Pinot Noir NV — $7.49/glass
At a 64% markup over retail, this is the least egregious pour on the list. It's not a serious Pinot Noir by any stretch, but at $7.49 a glass it won't embarrass you over a plate of New Orleans Pasta.
Cupcake Vineyards Red Velvet NV
Nobody orders this because the name sounds like dessert, but at $6.99 it's a soft, easy-drinking red blend that actually works with the heavier comfort food on the menu better than the more 'respectable' options on the list.
Barefoot Moscato NV
At $5.49 a glass you're paying a 91% markup on a wine that retails for six dollars a bottle. Just order a sweet tea.
Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay NV + Chicken Pot Pie
KJ Chard is butter-forward and soft — it leans into the cream sauce and pastry crust without fighting the dish. It's the most coherent combination on this menu, even if neither element is going to win any awards.
❌ The Bottom Line
The wine list at Cheddar's Hot Springs exists because a restaurant has to have one, not because anyone gave it a second thought. Order a cocktail, enjoy the scratch kitchen, and save the wine conversation for somewhere else.
Central Avenue / South Hot Springs · Hot Springs · Sports Bar Chain
Buffalo Wild Wings Hot Springs is a place to drink beer and watch sports — the wine list exists to technically have one, not to be used. Order a beer, order a cocktail, or bring your own if they allow corkage, but don't let the wine list be the reason you're here.

This is a margarita restaurant with a wine list that exists only so no one has to say there isn't one. Come for the fajitas and the frozen drinks — the wine is strictly last resort.

We wouldn't send anyone to Cracker Barrel for wine, and neither should you — the food is the point, the wine is a footnote. If you need a glass with dinner, grab the Gambino sparkling and move on with your life.

Olive Garden's wine list is the automotive equivalent of a rental car: it gets you where you're going, nobody's excited about it, and you return it without a second thought. Come for the breadsticks, drink the Chianti, and keep your expectations appropriately parked.

Red Lobster's wine program is exactly what it is — a chain afterthought with recognizable labels and pricing that won't actively insult you. Come for the biscuits, drink the Kim Crawford with your shrimp, and don't expect anything more.

You're not coming to Outback Hot Springs for a wine revelation, but the pricing is so surprisingly honest that ordering a glass feels less like a tax on your dinner and more like an actual choice. Lower your expectations on selection, keep them reasonable on value, and you'll leave fine.

The Bistro at Boar's Head isn't a wine destination, but it doesn't embarrass itself either — especially for a resort list, the Virginia producer support is genuine and worth ordering. If you're on property, lean local and you'll leave satisfied.

This is a sports bar with a wine section, not a wine bar that happens to have sports. Order a beer, order a cocktail, order the boneless wings — just don't come here expecting anything from the wine list.
