Wingman Metrics
Thirteen bottles, all by the glass, all weird in the best possible way — Ro Sham Beaux isn't trying to be everything to everyone. This is a tight, curated shot at a natural wine bar done on Sacramento terms, and the list reads like someone actually gave a damn when they built it. If you walked in expecting a wall of Napa Cab, you're in the wrong place.
For a list this small, the geographic range is legitimately impressive: you've got Croatian Plavac Mali from Skegro Family, Slovenian orange wine from Pullus, Basque white from Urkatx, Umbrian red from Annesanti, Loire-adjacent Lieu Dit, and a California cult natural from Las Jaras — all coexisting without any of the filler you'd expect. The program leans into low-intervention producers who don't usually show up on Sacramento wine lists at all, let alone at these prices. There are no obvious crowd-pleaser tokens here — no Meiomi, no Whispering Angel — which is either a brave editorial statement or a calculated filter depending on your crowd. The only real gap is depth: 13 bottles is thin, and if you want a second glass of the Janodet Beaujolais, you better hope they haven't poured through it.
Everything is by the glass here, which is the whole point — this is a pour-everything, share-everything operation. Prices run $11 to $16, which for the caliber of producers on this list is genuinely fair. Rotation isn't documented anywhere obvious, but a list this small either stays locked or moves fast, and we'd ask before you commit to a bottle.
La Vidaubanaise du Var La Plage Rosé — $11
Provence rosé from a proper co-op at $11 a glass is just hard to argue with. It's the entry point on the list and it doesn't feel like a compromise — it feels like a deal.
Skegro Family Krs Crni
Croatian Plavac Mali showing up on a Sacramento wine bar list is already unexpected — most people will skip past it because they can't pronounce it. Don't. Plavac Mali is dense, dark-fruited, and has real personality, and at $15 a glass you're paying for something genuinely rare in this market.
Las Jaras Superbloom
At $16 it's the most expensive pour on the list, and while Las Jaras makes good wine, Superbloom is the kind of bottle you can find at Whole Foods for $18 retail. Nothing wrong with the wine, but you're not getting a deal here — spend the extra dollar and drink something you can't find on a shelf.
Cirelli Rosato Frizzante + Charcuterie board
The Cirelli is a lightly sparkling, low-ABV Montepulciano rosé that cuts fat and salt without demanding your full attention — exactly what you want when you're grazing through cured meats and cheese. It's a session pour that actually tastes like something.
The Bottom Line
Ro Sham Beaux is punching well above its weight class for a 13-bottle list — the selection is genuinely surprising, the prices are fair, and it fills a real gap in the Sacramento natural wine scene. Send your adventurous friends; warn the Chardonnay-only crowd.

The Snug is a cocktail bar first and a wine destination never — but for what it is, the wine list is shockingly well-curated and worth exploring if you're the one at the table who doesn't want a Negroni. Don't come here for a deep wine night; do come here knowing the glass of Gamay you order between cocktails will be better than it has any right to be.
