The list punches above its size with genuine geographic range: Alsace Riesling from Schlumberger, a 1er Cru Champagne from Marc Hébrart, Isabelle Garrault's Sancerre, a Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Château Mont-Redon, and a Spanish Tempranillo from Beronia alongside a proper Albariño from Lagar de Cervera. California gets its due without crowding out everyone else — Plumpjack Reserve Chardonnay and Heitz Cellar Cab anchor the Napa corner, while Bedrock's Rosé of Mourvèdre and Jax Vineyards Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir represent the West Coast without defaulting to obvious mass-market names. If there's a gap, it's depth in reds — the list thins out quickly south of the Rhône and east of Spain.
