Wingman Metrics
The wine list arrives as a laminated insert tucked behind the cocktail specials, which tells you everything you need to know about its priority here. Twenty-something selections, all familiar faces — nothing surprising, nothing offensive. It's a list designed to not lose a sale, not to win one.
California dominates from top to bottom: Kendall-Jackson, Woodbridge, Josh Cellars, Meiomi — the Mount Rushmore of grocery store wine. The lone outlier is a Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling from Washington, which at least acknowledges that white wine and seafood can be friends. There are no real regions represented here, no Old World presence, no anything that would make a wine-curious diner lean in. The list was clearly assembled by a corporate committee with a target demographic in mind, and that demographic is not you.
Eight pours, all predictable, priced between $7 and $12 a glass — which is actually not highway robbery given the brand recognition on offer. Don't expect rotation or seasonal changes; this list is set and forgotten, the same in Erie as it is in Omaha. The upside is you know exactly what you're getting before you sit down.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling — $9
It's the only wine on this list with a legitimate argument for being here. Off-dry, bright, and actually built for shellfish — it does honest work next to a plate of snow crab without embarrassing anyone.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling
Most tables at Red Lobster are ordering Chardonnay on autopilot. The Ste. Michelle Riesling is the quiet overachiever that nobody picks — and it's the one bottle on this list that actually belongs at a seafood table.
Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Chardonnay
You can buy this for $8 at any grocery store in Pennsylvania. Paying restaurant markup — even a modest one — for something this ubiquitous is a hard pass. Order the Ste. Michelle instead.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling + Garlic Shrimp Scampi
The Riesling's touch of residual sugar and bright acidity cuts through the butter and garlic without getting steamrolled. It's the closest thing to a thoughtful wine decision this list will allow you to make.
❌ The Bottom Line
Red Lobster Erie is not a wine destination — it's a seafood chain with a functional, forgettable list that keeps the table watered without inspiring anyone. Order the Chateau Ste. Michelle, enjoy your biscuits, and save the serious bottle for another night.
Peach Street Corridor · Erie · Steakhouse
The markup here is genuinely fair, which is the nicest thing we can say — you're not getting ripped off, you're just not getting anything interesting either. If wine matters to you, drink whatever's cheapest and put your attention where it belongs: the steak.

Peach Street Corridor · Erie · Steakhouse / American
Texas Roadhouse is not a wine destination and makes no pretense of being one — the food is the draw and the wine list is an afterthought wearing a flannel shirt. Order a beer, a margarita, or just lean into the Woodbridge Cab and enjoy your steak.

If you're already staying at the Sheraton and want wine with dinner, Bayfront Grille won't ruin your night — but it won't give you a story to tell, either. Come for the bay view, not the bottle list.

Presque Isle is a wild card in the best sense: an estate winery patio that prices at retail and pours wines you genuinely cannot find anywhere else. If you're passing through Lake Erie wine country and skip this stop, you've missed the point of the trip.

Johnson Estate is a destination for people who want to drink where the wine is made, not a stop for those chasing a deep cellar experience. If you're anywhere near Lake Erie and curious about what this AVA can actually do with Riesling, it's worth the detour.

Yori isn't trying to be anything other than what it is — a scrappy, all-in local winery pouring its own stuff at prices that make you want to order a second round. If you've never explored Lake Erie hybrid wines, this is the most affordable classroom in the region.
