Ten bottles. That's it. Before you panic, hold on — because whoever curated this list clearly did their homework. This isn't a 200-label behemoth padded with grocery-store filler; it's a tight, deliberate selection that bounces from Beaujolais to Romania without flinching.
The geographic range here is legitimately impressive for a list this compact. You've got a Fellot Gamay from Côtes-de-Brouilly sitting next to an Olterra Negru de Drăgăsani from Oltenia, Romania — a grape almost nobody in Bellevue is pouring. Washington state gets two solid reps in the Cor Cellars Cab Franc from Horse Heaven Hills and Sparkman Cellars' Kindred Malbec. There's also an Italian double-header with the Najma Rosé of Refosco from Valdobbiadene and the Vigna del Lauro Cab Franc from Friuli. The only gap is depth — if you want to go deep on any one region, you're out of luck.
Everything on the list is available by the glass, which means the entire ten-bottle program is the BTG program. Prices run $7.50 to $13 a glass, which is genuinely fair for Bellevue. There's no rotation data available, but with a list this focused, each pour feels intentional rather than arbitrary.
Domaine de Couron Cuvée Marie Syrah Côtes du Rhône 2023 — $15
The cheapest bottle on the list is a Côtes du Rhône Syrah from a solid Ardèche producer. At $15 a bottle — or presumably around $7.50 a glass — this is the kind of everyday Rhône red that costs twice as much the moment you put it on a restaurant list anywhere else in the city.
Olterra Luturi Negru de Drăgăsani Oltenia 2022
Negru de Drăgăsani is a native Romanian grape that almost no one outside of Bucharest has heard of, let alone ordered at dinner. It's earthy, dark-fruited, and genuinely interesting — the kind of thing that turns a Tuesday dinner into a conversation. Most people will skip it because they can't pronounce it. Their loss.
M. Haslinger & Fils Brut Épernay Côtes des Blancs Champagne
At $26 a bottle, this is technically the most expensive pour on the list — and Champagne at restaurant prices almost never makes sense for a casual glass. Haslinger is not a name that commands a premium. If you want bubbles, the Najma Rosé at $17 is a far more interesting call.
Cor Cellars Alder Ridge Vineyard Cabernet Franc Horse Heaven Hills 2022 + Pasta or hearty entrée
Horse Heaven Hills Cab Franc is built for the table — it's got the structure for red meat and enough brightness to cut through rich pasta sauces. A Washington-grown wine at a Washington restaurant is the move when the list gives you the option.
The Bottom Line
Purple's Bellevue list is small enough to read in two minutes and interesting enough to think about for the rest of dinner. The pricing is shockingly fair, the picks are genuinely adventurous, and the Romanian grape alone earns it a visit.

Mercato Stellina is a pizza spot that accidentally built a wine list worth talking about — the Italian backbone is legit, the Washington State picks are well-chosen, and the pricing is honest. If you're expecting a deep white or sparkling program you'll be disappointed, but for a Nebbiolo or a Syrah with your Neapolitan, this place delivers.

Ruth's Chris Bellevue is a reliable machine for a certain kind of corporate dinner — but the wine list is a profit center dressed up as a wine program, and the markups make that clear. Order the Belle Glos, catch Ruth's Hour if you can, and save the serious wine drinking for somewhere that actually cares.

On a Wednesday, P.F. Chang's Bellevue is legitimately worth pulling up a chair for wine — half-price bottles with recognizable labels is a deal you won't find at most actual wine bars. Any other night, the list is competent but overpriced for what it is, and you'd be better off sticking to the cocktails.

Come on a Tuesday or Wednesday and grab the Lingua Franca at half price; you'll leave happy.
