Wingman Metrics
You walk into a neon-lit, Polynesian-fever-dream of a bar and the last thing you're thinking about is wine — which is exactly what Phat Sammy's is counting on. The wine list is three labels deep, all of them recognizable from your local grocery store's bottom shelf. This is a cocktail destination that happens to stock a token wine section.
Three wines. That's the list. La Vieille Ferme Pinot Noir, La Vieille Ferme Chardonnay, and Ruffino Prosecco — a trifecta that says 'we needed something to put on the menu for people who don't drink cocktails.' La Vieille Ferme is a perfectly fine, inexpensive Ventoux-adjacent table wine, but it's the kind of thing you'd crack open at a Tuesday potluck, not a restaurant charging $14–$24 per plate. There's no regional exploration, no nod to the Asian-fusion menu, no attempt whatsoever to match the list to the concept. For a place this creative with its food and cocktails, the wine program is a genuine afterthought.
All three wines are available by the glass, which means the entire wine program is a by-the-glass program. There's no bottle-only option to discover, no depth to reward the curious drinker. If you're here for wine, you've made a wrong turn — but the tiki cocktails will make you forget you ever cared.
Ruffino Prosecco — N/A
If you must drink wine here, the Prosecco is your move. It's light, it's fun, it matches the party energy of the room, and it won't fight the bold flavors coming out of the kitchen. It's also the only wine on this list that makes any contextual sense.
La Vieille Ferme Pinot Noir
It's not hidden so much as just quietly there. As an everyday Southern French table wine it's more interesting than people expect — earthy and light-bodied enough to handle the soy and sesame flavors in the food without completely falling apart. Expectations low, ceiling higher than you'd think.
La Vieille Ferme Chardonnay
A basic, lightly oaked Rhône Valley white that isn't bad on its own terms but has no business being the white wine anchor of an Asian-fusion tiki bar. Order a mai tai instead — you'll thank us.
Ruffino Prosecco + Spam Fried Rice
The Prosecco's bubble and acidity cut through the richness of the fried rice while matching the playful, irreverent vibe of the dish itself. It's not a serious pairing — but neither is the restaurant, and that's entirely the point.
❌ The Bottom Line
Phat Sammy's is a genuinely fun bar with a creative menu, and the wine list is a footnote nobody needed to write. Come for the tiki cocktails, the Katsu Sando, and the neon glow — just don't come for the wine.

The View earns its name from the scenery, not the wine list — but the list is solid enough to not embarrass the occasion. Send a friend here for a date night with the explicit instruction to order La Marca first, enjoy the view, and not overthink the rest.

Downtown / Holmes Avenue · Huntsville · Gastropub, American, Brewery
BeeZr isn't a wine destination — it's a craft beer bar that remembered wine drinkers exist — and on those terms, it delivers. The prices are fair, the pours are familiar, and if your crew insists on this spot, you won't be stuck with bad options or bad value.

Rokka's is genuinely fun — come for the cocktails, come for the tacos, come for the vibe. Just don't come for the wine list, because nobody built one here.

Amerigo isn't where you go to geek out on wine — it's where you go to eat good Italian food and drink something that won't let you down. For Huntsville, that makes it a reliable anchor worth keeping in the rotation.

Tom Brown's is a reliable steakhouse wine list — it won't embarrass you and it won't excite you, but it gives you enough name-brand California muscle to have a solid night with a good steak. Send your friends here for the food; the wine is a capable sidekick, not the main event.
