Wingman Metrics
Perry's wine list feels exactly like the restaurant: polished, predictable, and built for the expense-account crowd. At 59 labels with 33 by-the-glass options, there's enough here to keep most tables happy — just don't come looking for adventure. This is a list that knows its audience and plays squarely to it.
The list skews heavily toward California, with Sonoma and Monterey doing most of the heavy lifting on both the white and red sides. You'll find familiar names like Hartford Court, Rodney Strong, and Caymus Conundrum sitting comfortably alongside a few European gestures — Dr. Loosen from Mosel, Antinori's Santa Cristina, a Marqués de Cáceres Tempranillo from Rioja, and a DBR Lafite Bordeaux blend that adds a little prestige-label polish. The sparkling section is a genuine bright spot: Carnissi Prosecco, Mumm, a Pierre Sparr Crémant d'Alsace, and Perry's own Reserve Premier Cru Champagne give you real range from $50 to $130 a bottle. What's missing is anything that would make a serious wine drinker lean forward — no interesting Rhône, no Italian reds worth noting, no skin-contact or natural pours anywhere in sight.
Thirty-three by-the-glass options is a genuinely impressive number, and the breadth across sparkling, white, rosé, and red means you can build a full evening of glass pours without repeating yourself. Prices run $10 to $30 per glass, which is fair for the sparkling end but starts to feel steep on some of the California bottles where retail isn't far off the glass price. There's no evidence of regular rotation — this reads like a set list that doesn't change much.
The Bottom Line
Perry's is a reliable steakhouse wine list — well-stocked by the glass, recognizable labels, and competent enough to get through a nice dinner without frustration. The markups lean steep across the board, and the list won't surprise anyone, but the Dr. Loosen by the glass and the Rioja bottle are genuinely good calls if you know to look for them. Send a friend here for a steak dinner and tell them to skip the house Champagne.

· San Antonio · Steakhouse
Bob's Steak & Chop House San Antonio does exactly what a steakhouse wine list is supposed to do — it gives you recognizable producers, a respectable Champagne section, and enough California Chardonnay to satisfy the table. It won't excite anyone looking for adventure, and pricing at a place like this rarely favors the customer. But if you're here for the beef and want a bottle that won't require a conversation, the list delivers.

Bohanan's is doing real work on the wine side — a deep, well-curated list in a room that deserves it, even if the pricing leans on the premium end and the staff isn't quite sommelier-level yet. If you're in San Antonio and want a proper bottle with a proper steak, this is your spot.

· Franklin · Steakhouse
Perry's Franklin is a reliable steakhouse wine list — fair pricing, a genuinely large by-the-glass selection, and a few smart picks scattered among the safe choices. It's not going to excite a serious wine drinker, but it's not going to embarrass one either. Send your friend here knowing they'll drink well without getting gouged.

Six bottles shouldn't work this well, but The Palm Houston's list reads like someone with actual taste had five minutes and zero budget to fix the wine program — and somehow nailed it. We can't speak to service knowledge or storage conditions with confidence, but the value here, especially that Lucien Crochet at $23, is hard to argue with. If you're eating at The Palm anyway, ignore every instinct to order something familiar and trust the list.

Perry's Friendswood isn't going to blow any wine nerds' minds, but it's a solid, fairly priced list with enough range to keep most tables happy — and 37 by-the-glass options means nobody is stuck drinking something they hate. If you're here for a steak, grab the Dr. Loosen Riesling or the Crémant and don't overthink it.
