Breadsticks Win. Wine List Does Not.

Wingman Metrics
The wine list arrives tucked inside a laminated folder, and it reads exactly like you'd expect — a greatest hits of grocery store recognizables with an Italian flag slapped on top. Nothing here is going to surprise you, and honestly, that's kind of the point. This list was built for people who want something red and Italian without having to think too hard.
The list leans on Tuscany and California as its two load-bearing walls, which is fine but not exactly adventurous. You've got Ruffino Chianti doing the heavy lifting on the Italian side, while Meiomi and Coppola Rosso fly the California flag. Santa Margherita and Ecco Domani split Pinot Grigio duties, which is a bit redundant when you could've used that slot for literally anything from Campania, Sicily, or even a basic Vermentino. There are no real discoveries here — just familiar brand names chosen for ease of recognition, not quality of pour.
Ten to fifteen options by the glass sounds decent until you realize most of them are the same five producers in different formats. The glass pours top out around $14, which is manageable, but you're not getting anything remotely exciting for that price. Rotation appears nonexistent — what's on the list today was probably on the list two years ago.
Ruffino Chianti — $9
It's not a revelation, but Ruffino Chianti is a legitimate Tuscan Sangiovese at a price that won't sting. For a chain restaurant pour, it's the most honest option on the list — some actual acid, some actual structure, and it actually makes sense with the food.
Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio
Yes, Santa Margherita is overpriced almost everywhere, but at Olive Garden's glass price ceiling it lands within range of reasonable. Most people reach for Ecco Domani out of habit — the Santa Margherita from Alto Adige is meaningfully better wine with more mineral character and a cleaner finish.
Meiomi Pinot Noir
Meiomi is engineered for mass appeal — sweet, jammy, and soft in a way that erases any real Pinot character. At $13-$14 a glass you're paying a premium for a wine that tastes like it was designed by a focus group. Hard pass.
Ruffino Chianti + Chicken Parmigiana
Sangiovese's natural acidity cuts through the tomato sauce and stands up to the weight of the cheese without fighting the dish. It's a classic Italian pairing logic that actually holds up even in a strip mall dining room.
❌ The Bottom Line
The wine list at Olive Garden Odessa does exactly what Olive Garden's wine list is supposed to do — it's inoffensive, familiar, and gets out of the way of the breadsticks. If you're here for a serious glass of wine, you're in the wrong zip code.

Mi Casa is a place you go for the food — and the food is probably earning its keep. The wine list is purely functional, a last-minute add-on that no one's tended to in a while. Stick to the margaritas.

Marriott Odessa Convention Center · Odessa · Private Dining / Texas Bistro
Barrel & Derrick's private dining room wine list does exactly what it's designed to do: keep oil executives and convention guests comfortable with names they recognize at prices their companies will reimburse. If you're paying out of pocket and actually care about what's in your glass, focus on Penner-Ash or the Amarone and steer hard away from the Silver Oak Napa at $440.

Red Oak Kitchen's wine program punches above its weight for West Texas — a thoughtful small list with some real finds buried under the obligatory Napa names. Markups keep it from being a steal, but the Social Hour pricing and the William Chris collab give you real reasons to order a bottle instead of a cocktail.

Ruby Tuesday Odessa is not a wine destination — and it has absolutely no interest in becoming one. Order a cocktail, lean into the salad bar, and don't come here with a corkscrew in your heart.

Red Oak Steakhouse is punching well above its weight class for Odessa — the list is small but curated with real intent, and the by-the-glass pricing keeps it accessible. Send a wine-curious friend here; they'll be pleasantly thrown off.

Buffalo Wild Wings Odessa is not a wine destination — it's a wings-and-beer operation that happens to stock a canned Pinot Noir as a corporate checkbox. If you're with a group and someone insists on wine, the Archer Roose won't ruin your night, but don't come here for the list.

La Dolce Vita earns its stripes as a dependable neighborhood Italian with a wine list that actually respects the cuisine it's serving. It's not a destination wine program, but in Provo, it's one of the better options on the table — and that house pour at $4 a glass is almost disarmingly honest.

Carrabba's isn't where you go to discover wine, but it's where you go to drink something decent without getting ripped off. Send a friend here if they want a familiar Italian night with a glass that makes sense — just steer them toward the Italian side of the list.

Chef T's Garden Grill isn't trying to be a wine destination, but the list is broad enough to find something worth drinking, especially if you like Napa Cab with your dinner. Markups on the top-shelf bottles are a reason to pause, but the mid-tier options and solid by-the-glass count make this a reliable neighborhood pick rather than a reason to stay home.
