The list at Oakhart Social does not look like it belongs in a casual small plates spot on West Main — and that's a compliment. Forty-four labels spanning Bekaa Valley whites, Finger Lakes Riesling, Basque Txakoli, and Virginia Petit Manseng signal that someone here is paying serious attention. You don't expect this level of range walking into a wood-fired neighborhood joint, which is exactly what makes it worth a second look.

The list leans hard into interesting rather than safe. Virginia gets real representation — Southwest Mountain Vineyard's Petit Manseng and Hark Vineyard's chilled Petite Verdot are genuine local standouts, not token hometown picks. France shows up with purpose: Domaine Duclaux Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine Gonon Bourgogne Blanc, and a Lebanese outlier in Domaine des Tourelles from the Bekaa Valley. Italy holds its own with Paitin Serraboella Barbaresco and Domenico Clerico's Barbera d'Alba. The California contingent is a touch predictable — Ramey Chardonnay is a fine bottle but it's also the kind of safe anchor that every ambitious list defaults to — though Field Recordings 'Skins' orange wine keeps things honest.

Twelve pours by the glass is a generous program for a 44-bottle list, and the $12–$13 price point is accessible without being an afterthought. The glass selection pulls from the more adventurous corners of the list — the Txomin Etxaniz Txakoli and the Carl Ehrhard Blanc de Noirs Trocken showing up as pours tells you the glass menu wasn't built by committee. Rotation isn't confirmed, but what's there right now is worth ordering.
