The wine list at Nick's lands with the confidence of a place that takes itself seriously — 57 labels, real producers, and a price ceiling that climbs to $185. It's the kind of list that tells you the owners thought about wine, even if they didn't sweat every detail.
The Italian thread running through this list makes sense given the concept — you've got Beni di Batasiolo and Renato Ratti Nebbiolo representing the north, Stemmari Pinot Noir keeping things approachable, and Villa Antinori Bianco Toscano for the white drinkers who know their regions. California gets heavy representation across Napa, Sonoma, Lodi, and the Central Coast, which will keep the steak crowd happy. France shows up in useful spots — Delamotte Champagne at the top of the sparkling game, Maison les Alexandrins Syrah for something with a little edge, and Fleurs de Prairie Rosé for the table that can't agree on anything. The list doesn't take risks and there's no natural wine, no grower Champagne, and no real exploration below the surface — but for Huntsville, it's a solid, honest effort.
Twenty-seven by-the-glass options is a genuinely impressive number, covering everything from Mionetto Prosecco to Duckhorn Chardonnay and Caymus Cabernet — though at $9–$16 a glass, you're paying for the comfort of recognizable labels. The selection is deep enough that you won't feel stuck, but it reads more like greatest hits than a curated program with any rotation or personality.
Delamotte Brut Champagne — $125
An 81% markup on a bottle that retails around $69 is legitimately fair by upscale restaurant standards — Delamotte is the sister house to Salon and punches well above its price in the Champagne world. Ordered at a steakhouse in Alabama, it's a small flex that actually makes sense.
Renato Ratti Nebbiolo
Most tables at a steakhouse go straight for Caymus and never look back — which means this Renato Ratti Nebbiolo sits overlooked. Ratti is a serious Piedmontese producer, and Nebbiolo's tart cherry and dried rose character cuts through red meat beautifully without the $100+ price tag of a proper Barolo.
Guiliano Rosati Pinot Grigio
At $32 a bottle on a wine that retails for $11, you're paying nearly triple for a perfectly forgettable entry-level Pinot Grigio. There's no story here, no producer pedigree — just a safe-looking label and a 191% markup. Order the Banfi Le Rime instead if you want something in the same lane.
Maison les Alexandrins Syrah + Certified Angus Ribeye
The Alexandrins Syrah brings Northern Rhône-adjacent smoke, black olive, and dark fruit — exactly the kind of savory backbone that doesn't get bulldozed by a well-marbled ribeye. It's the interesting choice that skips the obvious Cab and makes you look like you know something.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Nick's is the kind of place that earns its reputation on food first, wine second — but the list is thoughtful enough that you won't feel abandoned. Come for the steak, order the Nebbiolo, and skip the entry-level Pinot Grigio.

Logan's wine program is the minimum viable product of wine programs — six mainstream labels doing the bare legal minimum to call themselves a full-service restaurant. Order the beer, order the steak, and save your wine questions for somewhere that's actually thought about it.

Bravo! Huntsville's wine list is a corporate placeholder that exists to move volume, not to make you drink better. If wine matters to your night out, save this address for the food and get your bottle elsewhere.

BJ's Huntsville is a perfectly fine place to eat and drink beer — and we mean that sincerely. But the wine list is corporate filler, and no one on staff is going to help you navigate it. Order the Pizookie, order a craft beer, and save your wine curiosity for somewhere that earned it.

The Poppy & Parliament is a perfectly fine place to have a glass of wine with dinner — just go in knowing you're paying a premium for the atmosphere and the familiar labels. If you're wine-focused, order the Champagne, enjoy the fish and chips, and don't look too hard at the markup column.
