The wine list at Meadowood hits like a well-tailored suit — composed, intentional, and clearly built by someone who knows exactly what they're doing. It's not the longest list you'll ever see at 65 labels, but every slot earns its place. This is a list curated for serious drinkers who also happen to be eating a $330 tasting menu.
What impresses us most is how far this list travels beyond Napa Cabernet without abandoning it. You've got grower Champagne from Pierre Gimonnet, Loire Sauvignon Blanc from Vacheron, a beautifully aged Zilliken Riesling from the Saar, Beaujolais from Georges Descombes, and Barolo from Brovia — all sitting alongside Dominus, Harlan, and a 1995 Robert Mondavi Reserve that has no business being poured by the glass anywhere. The California representation is thoughtful, not just chest-thumping: Radio Coteau and Poe signal that the buyer isn't just reaching for trophy bottles. The gaps are minimal — this isn't a deep-cellar Burgundy destination — but what's here is genuinely considered.
Sixteen by-the-glass options is a strong count for a list this refined, and the range is remarkable — from an $18 Poe Rosé of Pinot Noir to a $125 pour of Harlan Estate The Maiden. The Champagne-heavy opening section of the BTG list sends a clear message: this is a special occasion and you should start with bubbles. The Krug Grande Cuvée at $65/glass is the kind of move that either thrills you or sends you straight to the cocktail menu, but the fact that it exists here tells you everything about the room.

In a room full of $40-plus pours, a $20 glass of Zilliken Kabinett from one of the Saar's most respected estates is the quiet overachiever. Bright, precise, and food-friendly in a way that a lot of the bigger reds in this list simply aren't.

Robert Mondavi Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1995
Yes, it's a legitimate piece of Napa history, and yes, it's cool that they're pouring it by the glass. But at $95/pour, you're paying a serious premium for provenance and nostalgia in a room where $45 gets you Dominus Napanook. Unless the Mondavi moment is the whole point of your evening, the math doesn't work.
