Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Market Grill reads like a greatest hits of American grocery-store favorites — Meiomi, KJ, Decoy — but at prices that don't insult you. For Yuma, it's one of the more composed lists in the room, and that counts for something.
The list leans heavily California with a nod to Washington and New Zealand, covering the bases without taking any risks. You'll find recognizable names that move units — The Prisoner, Decoy Cab, Whitehaven Sauv Blanc — but don't come expecting anything from Burgundy, the Rhône, or anywhere that requires a passport. The 40–60 bottle range sounds promising until you realize most of it is brand-name mainstream, with little room for discovery. It's a list built for people who already know what they like, not for those looking to be surprised.
Eight to fourteen options by the glass is a decent spread for an upscale-casual spot in this market, and the $9–$15 price range is genuinely reasonable. The selection mirrors the bottle list — familiar, safe, and crowd-tested — so don't expect any rotating pours that'll make you do a double take.
Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc — $30–$35/bottle
Whitehaven is a reliable, well-made Marlborough Sauv Blanc that typically retails around $14–$16. At the lower end of the bottle pricing here, it's honest value — bright, citrus-driven, and a natural fit for the seafood side of the menu.
The Prisoner Red Blend
It's splashy enough to get overlooked as a table-wine cliché, but The Prisoner actually delivers — rich, Zinfandel-driven, dark fruit, and enough complexity to hold up against a serious steak. Most diners at a place like this will default to the Decoy Cab; ordering The Prisoner is the smarter move.
Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay
KJ Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay retails for around $13 a bottle. At restaurant glass prices, you're paying a steep premium for something that belongs in a grocery cart, not a polished bistro setting. There are better white options here.
Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon + Premium quality steak
Decoy Cab is fruit-forward and structured enough to match a well-marbled cut without overwhelming it. It's not a bold, tannic monster — which actually works in its favor here, keeping the wine in conversation with the steak rather than fighting it.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Market Grill isn't trying to reinvent wine in the desert, and it doesn't need to — it's a clean, fairly priced list that does its job for a steak-and-seafood night out in Yuma. Send your friends here for dinner, but tell them to leave their expectations for discovery at the door.

Cracker Barrel is not a wine destination and has made absolutely no effort to be one. Order the biscuits, maybe get a mimosa if the mood strikes, and save your wine curiosity for literally anywhere else.

Logan's Roadhouse isn't here for wine people, and the wine list makes no effort to pretend otherwise. Grab a La Vieille Ferme Rosé or an Underwood Pinot and set your expectations accordingly — this is a beer-and-bourbon room wearing a wine list as a formality.

Chili's Yuma is a place to drink a margarita and eat fajitas, and there is absolutely no shame in that. Just don't come here for the wine — order a cocktail, enjoy your ribs, and save the bottle of wine for somewhere that actually cares.

The wine list at Olive Garden Yuma is a placeholder, not a program — it checks the box without trying to do anything more. Order the Chianti, eat the breadsticks, and save your real wine curiosity for somewhere that shares it.

Old Town Wine Cellar is the kind of place that makes you rethink what a small desert city can pull off — the list is genuinely deep, the prices are almost aggressively fair, and the Coravin program punches it up another level. If you're passing through Yuma or happen to live there, this is your spot.

River City Grill is a genuinely good restaurant with a wine list that hasn't quite caught up to its kitchen. The pricing is steeper than it should be for these labels, but the all-glass availability and reasonable per-pour prices make it a comfortable enough spot to drink well if you know what to order.
