Wingman Metrics
Walk in expecting a red-checkered-tablecloth house Chianti situation, and the wine list politely corrects you. Twenty-five labels is a compact list, but the names on it — Pecchenino, Sella & Mosca, Quadrio, Bertani — signal that someone here is actually paying attention. This is not a list built by defaulting to the distributor's top ten.
The Italian focus is tight and well-executed: you get Dolcetto from Dogliani, Cannonau from Sardinia, Valtellina Superiore from Lombardy, and Valpolicella from the Veneto — that's real regional range for a 25-bottle list in a mid-sized Georgia city. The Fattorie Melini Chianti Classico and Ricossa Barbera Appassimento round out the heartland Italian reds, while the Ruevi Barbera d'Alba at the top of the price ladder shows they're not afraid to go a bit deeper. The whites follow suit with the Argillae Superiore and Castalvero Cortese alongside the more expected Pinot Grigios, though the California contingent — Chalk Hill Chardonnay, Pike Road, Leviathan — feels a little grafted on. The gaps are real: no Nebbiolo beyond the Valtellina blend, no sparkling beyond a Moscato d'Asti, and Rosé is thin.
Nearly the entire list pours by the glass, which is genuinely impressive — 23 of 25 labels available as pours, starting at $10 and topping out at $18. That's a restaurant that wants you exploring, not just defaulting to whatever's open. The range lets you work through multiple Italian regions in one sitting without committing to a bottle, which is exactly how a list like this should function.
The Bottom Line
Mama Lucia's wine list punches well above its weight for a casual Italian restaurant in Newnan — fair pricing, real Italian regional depth, and an almost entirely by-the-glass program that invites exploration. If you're the kind of person who gets excited about Valtellina Superiore showing up at $13 a glass, send a friend here immediately.

Meat N Greet isn't trying to be a wine destination, and the list makes that clear — but within a nine-bottle program, the pricing is fair and there are a couple of genuinely good producers tucked in. If you're in Newnan and want a glass of something decent without overthinking it, this works. Just go straight for the Loosen.

Graysons puts together a wine list that would hold its own in Atlanta, let alone Newnan. The by-the-glass depth is the real headline — 36 options with fair pricing means you can explore without committing to a bottle or breaking the bank. If you're in Coweta County and want a proper glass of wine with your steak, this is your spot.

Lucia's looks like a solid neighborhood Italian where the wine list does its job without putting on a show — fair enough for what it is. We'd love to give a stronger verdict, but the wine program isn't documented well enough for us to send you in with a specific bottle recommendation. Go for the Bolognese, ask your server what's open, and report back.

ZuZZu is a reliable neighborhood Italian where the wine list plays a supporting role to the kitchen — focused on Sicily and Tuscany, priced fairly, and sized to match the room. We'd send a friend here for dinner knowing the wine won't be the headline, but it also won't ruin the night. Get the cavatelli frutti di mare, drink something Sicilian, and enjoy the fact that you're not paying downtown prices.

If you're coming to The Italian Oven, come for the generous portions and old-school Italian comfort food — the Seafood Marinara and Spaghetti and Meatballs are the draw here, not the wine list. We can't confirm enough about the wine program to send anyone here specifically for a bottle, so order a cocktail or BYOB if that's an option, and save the wine night for somewhere that's earned it.
