Wingman Metrics
You come to Hopstix expecting a deep craft beer menu and rice bowls β and you'd be right β but then the wine list shows up and it's actually ten options deep with some genuinely decent producers in the mix. It's compact, sure, but for a brewpub in Atlanta, this thing has no business being this coherent. Expectations: exceeded, mildly.
Ten labels, all available by the glass, running from a Lovo Prosecco to a Babylonstoren Cabernet out of South Africa β that's a wider geographic swing than most dedicated wine bars bother with. The CH Berres Riesling from the Mosel is the standout flex here, a real wine from a real producer that signals someone at least peeked beyond the distributor's top-ten sheet. Chehalem RosΓ© from Oregon and OTWC Pinot Noir round out the lighter end nicely, and the Chalmers Red Blend from Australia adds a left-field pick that most guests will ignore but shouldn't. Gaps exist β no Spanish, no Italian reds, no natural wine presence β but for what it is, this list punches above its weight class.
All ten bottles are poured by the glass, priced between $10 and $14, which is a refreshing lack of gatekeeping in a city where by-the-glass programs often top out at five boring options. Bottle prices run $40β$56, so the markup is honest β you're not getting hosed for opting to drink by the glass. No rotating picks or featured pours that we could find, which is a missed opportunity given the inherent variety already on the list.
CH Berres Riesling β $12
A legit Mosel Riesling at brewpub prices is the kind of thing you'd normally pay $18 for in a restaurant that knew what it had. The acidity cuts straight through anything spicy or rich on the menu.
Chalmers Red Blend
Most people at a gastropub will default to the Cab or the Pinot. The Chalmers Red Blend from Australia β built around southern Italian varieties grown in Victoria β is the adventurous pick nobody's ordering, and that's a shame.
Conundrum White Blend
Conundrum is fine, but it's a California grocery-store staple that shows up everywhere and costs more than it delivers. With the CH Berres and Kate Arnold on the same list, there's no reason to default here.
CH Berres Riesling + Spicy Asian noodles or Korean fried chicken
Off-dry Riesling and heat-forward Asian food is a combination that needs no convincing β the residual sugar tempers the spice while the acidity keeps everything from going heavy. This is the move at Hopstix.
π² The Bottom Line
Hopstix is here to sell you craft beer and it does that job well β but the wine list is a genuine overachiever for its context, with fair prices and at least two bottles worth getting excited about. Send a wine-drinking friend here without apology.
Decatur Β· Atlanta Β· Spanish / Tapas
The Iberian Pig's wine list is punching above its weight for a tapas spot with fewer than 20 labels β smart producer picks, all available by the glass, and fair pricing that doesn't make you do sad math. Send a friend here if they actually want to drink well with their patatas bravas.

Grant Park Β· Atlanta Β· Mexican
Mezcalito's isn't a wine destination, but its list punches above its weight on value and has just enough Spanish character to make it interesting. If you're here for tacos, order the Rioja and don't look back.

Β· Atlanta Β· Deli / Sandwiches
B-Side is the best argument we've seen for ignoring a restaurant's concept when you're ordering wine β this deli list would embarrass plenty of wine-forward restaurants. Come for the sandwich, stay for the Slovenian blend you've never heard of.

Β· Atlanta Β· Italian
Sugo's all-by-the-glass format is a genuine differentiator in Atlanta's Italian dining scene β fair prices, thoughtful Italian regionality, and enough variety to reward the curious without overwhelming the table. Send a friend here if they want to explore Italian wine without the commitment of a bottle.

Beltline Β· Atlanta Β· Wine Bar
Hazel Jane's is the kind of wine bar Atlanta quietly needed β curious, approachable, and not afraid to put a grape you've never heard of front and center. If you're willing to let go of the wheel a little, this place will take you somewhere worth going.

Toco Hills Β· Atlanta Β· Spanish tapas
Silla Del Toro is the Wild Card of Atlanta's tapas scene β not because it's perfect, but because it's trying harder than it has to, and mostly getting it right. If you're anywhere near Toco Hills, order the AlbariΓ±o, order the Tempranillo Blanco, and eat something salty.
