Eight labels, zero pretension — the wine list at Hattie's is about as streamlined as it gets. It's not trying to impress you, and honestly, that's fine. You're here for the fried chicken, and the wine list knows its place.
The list covers the greatest hits: a Prosecco split, a Pinot Grigio, a Sauv Blanc, a Chardonnay, a Rosé, a Pinot Noir, a Chianti, and a Cab. Regions bounce from Veneto to Marlborough to Mendoza, which sounds more exciting than it is — these are all workhorses built for crowd appeal, not discovery. There's no deep cellar lurking here, no regional focus that ties back to the Southern kitchen, and no producer that'll make a wine nerd sit up straight. What you get is a reliable, inoffensive lineup that covers every guest at the table without any fuss.
All eight bottles are available by the glass, which means the BTG program and the full list are literally the same thing. Prices land between $11 and $14 a glass, which is reasonable for Saratoga Springs. Don't expect a rotating slate of anything — what's on the menu is what's on the menu.
Poderi Melini 'San Lorenzo' Chianti — $11/glass, $40/bottle
The cheapest pour on the list and the most interesting. A Chianti from a real Tuscan producer at $40 a bottle is a fair deal — it's food-friendly, has some structure, and actually makes sense alongside the jambalaya or a heavier Southern plate.
Castello Monaci 'Kreos' Rosé
From Puglia, not Provence — most tables will walk right past this and order the Pinot Grigio. The Kreos is a more interesting pour, with a bit more personality than your average blush. Worth the extra two bucks over the house white.
Hearst Family 'Glacier Ridge' Chardonnay
At $14 a glass and $52 a bottle, it's the priciest pour on a very short list, and it's a California Chardonnay that offers nothing you can't get elsewhere for less. With no retail comps to benchmark against, you're paying a premium for the most predictable wine in the room.
Poderi Melini 'San Lorenzo' Chianti + Jambalaya
The Chianti's acidity and savory backbone cut right through the richness of the jambalaya's tomato base and spiced sausage. It's the kind of pairing that works because both things have some edge to them — neither is trying to be polite.

Hattie's is a Saratoga institution that earns its reputation on the food, not the wine list. The list is short, safe, and priced fairly enough that ordering a bottle won't sting — just don't come here expecting anything beyond the basics.
