You pull up to a hillside estate off a quiet Ashland road and the wine list is literally just theirs — every bottle estate-grown, Rogue Valley fruit, no filler. It's refreshing and slightly disorienting if you're used to restaurant lists padded with Sonoma Coast filler. This is the whole point: one winery, one place, take it or leave it.
The lineup spans around a dozen labels with more range than the format suggests — Marsanne/Roussanne blends, a White Tempranillo, Malbec, Cab Franc, Syrah, and a Rosé all coexist without feeling random. Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley AVA gets slept on nationally, but the climate here — hot days, cool nights, volcanic soils — punches well above its reputation for Rhône varieties and Bordeaux reds. The 2014 Cabernet Franc and 2015 Syrah in particular signal a winery that isn't just chasing easy crowd-pleaser varietals. Gaps are obvious though: no sparkling, no dessert wine, zero outside producers if you want a reference point.
Eight to twelve options by the glass at $10–$18 is legitimately solid for an estate tasting room — you can work through most of the lineup without committing to a bottle. The glass pour range covers whites, rosé, and reds, which means a table of mixed drinkers can all find something without defaulting to beer. No structured flight system was apparent from research, which is a missed opportunity at a spot like this.
2015 Syrah — $18/glass
Rogue Valley Syrah at this price point from estate fruit is a genuine deal — the AVA produces dark, spicy Syrahs that trade well above what Southern Oregon typically charges. At the top of their glass pour range, it still undercuts what comparable Rhône-style Syrah costs basically anywhere else.
2018 Reserve White Tempranillo
Most people at a tasting room reach for the red Tempranillo by reflex — this white skin-contact variant is the weirder, more interesting pour. White Tempranillo is genuinely obscure in Oregon, and the Reserve designation suggests they're taking it seriously. Worth asking about before you default to the Chardonnay.
2019 Chardonnay
Not because it's bad, but because it's the least adventurous thing on the list and you drove up a mountain to drink Rogue Valley wine. There are far more interesting whites on this list that you can't find anywhere else — the Marsanne/Roussanne blend alone makes the Chard redundant.

The winery encourages picnicking on the estate grounds, and a Rhône-style white blend — textured, aromatic, slightly waxy — is exactly what you want with cured meats and aged cheese in the afternoon sun. The wine's weight holds up to salt and fat without getting lost.
🎲 The Bottom Line
Grizzly Peak is a Wild Card because it shouldn't work as well as it does — a small estate tasting room in a sleepy Ashland neighborhood with no outside wines and no sommelier, yet the list is genuinely curious and the value is honest. If you're passing through Southern Oregon wine country, this is the stop that rewards the detour.
