Wingman Metrics
You pull up to Grandview and the view does exactly what the name promises β rolling Lancaster County farmland, a patio begging you to sit down, and zero pressure to know anything about wine. This is a winery that leads with its setting and backs it up with honest, locally grown bottles at prices that feel almost apologetically fair.
The list is tight β somewhere in the 15-to-25-bottle range, all estate-grown Pennsylvania wines β but that focus is a feature, not a bug. Grandview leans into native and hybrid varieties that actually thrive in this climate: Chambourcin doing the heavy lifting on the red side, Vidal Blanc holding it down for white drinkers who want something refreshing and a little tropical. Chardonnay rounds out the lineup for those who need something familiar. You won't find Barolo or aged Riesling here, but you will find wines that are honest about where they come from and priced like the winery actually wants you to drink them.
By-the-glass specifics aren't pinned down, but the $6 tasting flight format means you can work through the lineup without committing to a bottle β which is basically the best deal in Lancaster County wine tourism. Given the bottle prices hovering in the low-to-mid $20s, glass pours are almost certainly priced to move.
Grandview Vineyard Vidal Blanc β ~$22
Vidal Blanc is Pennsylvania's unsung hero grape β it ripens reliably, brings bright acidity and stone fruit character, and at this price point it's a no-brainer for a warm afternoon on the patio.
Grandview Vineyard Chambourcin
Most people bypass Chambourcin because they've never heard of it, and that's exactly why you shouldn't. This French-American hybrid produces genuinely interesting, medium-bodied reds with dark fruit and earthy notes that punch above what the price suggests. Don't let the unfamiliar name send you back to the Chardonnay.
Grandview Vineyard Chardonnay
If you're going to drive out to Lancaster wine country, skipping the most generic white wine on the list is the move. Chardonnay grows everywhere; Vidal Blanc and Chambourcin don't. Order the interesting stuff.
Grandview Vineyard Chambourcin + Food truck burger or casual American fare
Chambourcin's dark fruit and subtle tannin hold up perfectly against a grilled burger from whatever food truck is parked out front. It's unpretentious red wine meeting unpretentious food β which is exactly the right energy for this place.
π² The Bottom Line
Grandview isn't trying to be Napa and that's entirely the point β it's a low-key, affordable way to spend a few hours drinking local wine in one of Pennsylvania's prettier corners. If you're within an hour of Lancaster and you've never tried a Chambourcin, this is where you fix that.
East Lancaster Β· Lancaster Β· Classic Italian and Italian-American
Lombardo's won't expand your wine horizons, but it won't ruin your dinner either β order the Chianti, avoid the Santa Margherita markup, and let the kitchen do the heavy lifting. A solid neighborhood Italian that treats wine as a supporting character, not the main event.

Amorette is doing something genuinely rare in a city Lancaster's size β running a wine program with real depth, real staff, and a cellar worth caring about. The markups will sting on the high end, but the breadth of the list means there are smart plays available if you know where to look.

New Holland Pike Β· Lancaster Β· Brewpub / Beer Hall
This is not a wine destination β it's a beer hall that happens to take Pennsylvania wine seriously enough to put together a thoughtful, all-local list at fair prices. If you're here with a non-beer drinker, they're covered, and they might even discover something worth coming back for.

Bainbridge / Greater Lancaster Β· Lancaster Β· Winery
Nissley is a Wild Card in the best sense: you're not getting a canonical wine list, you're getting a third-generation Pennsylvania winery doing its own thing with grapes most restaurants wouldn't touch. If you're open to that, the prices alone make it worth the trip out to Bainbridge.

Onus isn't trying to be a destination wine list β it's a focused estate pour in a shared Lodi tasting room, and at $10β$20 for a flight, the price of admission is low enough that curiosity alone justifies the stop. If you're passing through Lodi and want to understand why the region is having a moment, this is a fine place to start.
