Wingman Metrics
You walk into a place called Beer Fridge expecting exactly that β and then there's a wine list. Nine labels, all by the glass, priced between $9 and $11. It's not trying to be a wine bar, which is exactly why it works.
For a bottle shop built around beer, nine wines spanning California, Spain, Italy, Argentina, France, and Australia is a genuinely respectable effort. The list isn't deep β it's a greatest hits of approachable global varieties β but there are a few genuinely interesting picks tucked in. The Luberri Orlegi Alavesa Rioja and the Castelvero Barbera give it more character than the average beer spot's afterthought wine menu. The California-heavy anchor (Aviary Cab, Aviary Chard, Vina Robles Sauv Blanc) keeps it accessible for anyone who wanders in without a strong opinion.
Every bottle on the list is available by the glass, which is the right call for a casual walk-in spot. At $9β$11 a pour, the pricing is honest β you're not getting gouged for the convenience. Rotation appears static rather than seasonal, so don't expect surprises on a return visit.
Luberri Orlegi Alavesa Rioja 2017 β $11/glass
A Rioja from a solid producer for $11 a glass at a beer shop is a minor miracle. This is the pour that makes the wine list worth paying attention to.
Castelvero Barbera 2006
A 2006 Barbera sitting on a nine-bottle wine list at a beer shop is genuinely weird β in the best way. Most people here are ordering a hazy IPA, so this one gets overlooked. It shouldn't.
Aviary Chardonnay 2017
Aviary is grocery store Chardonnay at a slightly marked-up price. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing interesting about it either. There are better choices on this same list.
Lulumi Rose 2018 + Charcuterie or bar snacks
A French rosΓ© is the right call when you're grazing on whatever's on the counter. Light, dry, and it doesn't fight with anything.
π² The Bottom Line
Beer Fridge isn't a wine destination, but its nine-bottle list punches above its weight class β especially the Rioja and the Barbera. Come for the beer, stay for the pleasant surprise.
East Lancaster Β· Lancaster Β· Classic Italian and Italian-American
Lombardo's won't expand your wine horizons, but it won't ruin your dinner either β order the Chianti, avoid the Santa Margherita markup, and let the kitchen do the heavy lifting. A solid neighborhood Italian that treats wine as a supporting character, not the main event.

Downtown Lancaster Β· Lancaster Β· Fine Dining / New American
Amorette is doing something genuinely rare in a city Lancaster's size β running a wine program with real depth, real staff, and a cellar worth caring about. The markups will sting on the high end, but the breadth of the list means there are smart plays available if you know where to look.

The Exchange is a fine place to have a glass of wine β it's just not a fine place to think about wine. Come for the rooftop, order the Matanzas Creek, and let the view do the rest.

New Holland Pike Β· Lancaster Β· Brewpub / Beer Hall
This is not a wine destination β it's a beer hall that happens to take Pennsylvania wine seriously enough to put together a thoughtful, all-local list at fair prices. If you're here with a non-beer drinker, they're covered, and they might even discover something worth coming back for.

Nissley is a Wild Card in the best sense: you're not getting a canonical wine list, you're getting a third-generation Pennsylvania winery doing its own thing with grapes most restaurants wouldn't touch. If you're open to that, the prices alone make it worth the trip out to Bainbridge.

Moon Dancer isn't a destination wine list β it's a destination experience where the wine happens to be made on-site and priced fairly. If you're dragging someone to Lancaster wine country for the first time or want a genuinely relaxed afternoon with local pours and good pizza, this earns its spot on the itinerary.
