Wingman Metrics
Eighteen labels, all available by the glass — that's the whole list, and honestly, it's a confident move for a neighborhood Italian spot. Nothing here is going to make a wine geek swoon, but the Italian-leaning selections show at least some thought went into matching the list to the kitchen. Prices top out at $50/bottle, which in 2024 Texas feels almost quaint.
The list leans into Italian reds in a way that actually makes sense for the menu — three Chiantis (Banfi Bellagio, Ruffino Aziano, Tiamo DOCG), a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from La Fiera, and the Gran Passione Merlot/Corvina blend give you a reasonable tour of central and northern Italy without getting weird about it. Whites are thinner: two Pinot Grigios (one organic from Tiamo), a Stemmari Chardonnay, and an unnamed Sauvignon Blanc cover the bases without inspiring much excitement. The White Zinfandel and Moscato are here for the table that orders them, and that's fine. Justin Cabernet at $50/bottle is the lone California flag planted, sitting noticeably above everything else on the list.
Every bottle on the list is also available by the glass, which makes this an unusually flexible by-the-glass program for a small Italian restaurant — 18 pours ranging from $8 to $17. The house wines (Cabernet, Chardonnay, Merlot) at $8/glass are the budget anchor, and the Tiamo Prosecco Organic rounds out the list without a listed bottle price. No obvious rotation or seasonal program in sight — what you see is what you get.
The Bottom Line
Gino's isn't trying to be a wine destination, and it doesn't pretend to be — but the Italian-focused list, fair pricing, and full by-the-glass access make it a genuinely decent place to drink while you eat. Skip the Justin, lean into the Italian reds, and you'll leave happy.

Swallow Wines is doing something real in a place most people wouldn't expect it — running winemaker events with serious small producers, stocking Counoise and Falanghina, and building a list that rewards the curious. We don't have pricing confirmed, so we can't vouch for value on the numbers, but the curation alone earns a detour if you're anywhere near Round Rock.

Sortino's punches above its weight class for a suburban Italian chain — fair markup, a genuine Italian backbone, and seventeen by-the-glass options give you room to drink well without a fight. It's not a destination wine list, but if you're already there for the pasta, you won't be stuck ordering soda.

Cover 3 Round Rock is a solid gastropub doing a lot of things right — just not wine. The list is undocumented, almost certainly underdeveloped, and not the reason anyone is walking through the door. Order a local craft beer or a cocktail, enjoy the Chicken Fried Chicken, and save your wine curiosity for a restaurant that earned it.

Frank & Margie's wine list is doing something quietly ambitious for Round Rock — twelve Italian-leaning glasses anchored by real producers like Oddero, Principiano, and Collosorbo at prices that don't sting. If you're the kind of person who gets excited about Grechetto di Todi on a Tuesday night, yes, absolutely send your friends here.

Whiskey Cake Round Rock isn't a wine destination, but it's not trying to be — the all-by-the-glass format keeps things approachable, the pricing is honest, and there are a couple of genuinely good pours hiding in a short list. If wine is your priority tonight, look elsewhere; if you're here for the vibe and want something decent in your glass, Chehalem and Altocedro have you covered.

Double Cut is a resort steakhouse wine list doing exactly what it was designed to do: keep guests comfortable and keep bottles moving. The markups are real, especially at the top end, and the list won't surprise anyone who's eaten at a hotel restaurant in the last decade. If you're here, order the Norton Malbec or the Mer Soleil Silver, skip the Caymus, and don't expect a wine revelation — that's not the point.

· Atlanta · Italian
Il Giallo runs one of the more thoughtful Italian wine programs in Atlanta — 35 by-the-glass options with genuine regional range is rare, and the pricing stays fair across most of the list. If you're willing to skip the comfort picks and lean into the Sardinian whites or the Abruzzo reds, you'll drink very well here. Send a friend who actually likes Italian wine; tell the one who always orders Rombauer to sit down.

Pendolino is doing something genuinely interesting with a very short Italian wine list — prioritizing producers and regions that actually reward curiosity over safe crowd-pleasers. We don't have pricing or glass program details to fully vet the value story, but the selection alone earns our attention. If you're eating Italian in Sandy Springs and you want more than the usual suspects, this list is worth your time.

La Tavola deserves a real wine list — the food and the room both demand one. Right now, five bottles with no reds and no whites is a disservice to a kitchen that's clearly cooking at a higher level than the wine program suggests. Order the Ca' Del Bosco if you're drinking wine, and hope they overhaul this list before your next visit.
