Wingman Metrics
Eleven labels, every single one made in-house — this is not a wine bar that hedges its bets. The list is tight enough to read in thirty seconds, and the price ceiling of $60 immediately tells you this place isn't trying to impress you with four-digit trophy bottles. It's a confident, narrow pitch, and we're here for it.
The lineup covers the expected Pacific Northwest bases — Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé, and Syrah, all under the Gig Harbor Wine Co. label. Two reserve bottlings, the Silver Glide Syrah and Sturdy Gertie Cabernet Sauvignon, sit at the top of the price ladder and signal that there's genuine ambition behind the house brand, not just bulk production with a local name slapped on. The Vine Cabernet Franc is the kind of variety most casual wine drinkers wouldn't choose first, which tells us the winemaker has a point of view. The gap here is obvious: zero third-party bottles, no bubbles, nothing outside Washington-grown fruit — if you want a Burgundy or a Barolo, you're in the wrong room.
By-the-glass specifics aren't confirmed in our research, but as a bottle shop and wine bar with only eleven SKUs and accessible pricing across the board, it's reasonable to expect most bottles are available by the pour. The Rooster Race Rosé at $26 a bottle and the Gig Harbor Red Blend at $32 are practically begging to be poured by the glass. We'd ask at the counter rather than assume.
Gig Harbor Wine Co. Rooster Race - Rosé 2025 — $26
Twenty-six dollars for a current-vintage rosé from a house that clearly cares about what goes in the bottle. This is the kind of price that doesn't exist at most wine bars, and the 2025 vintage is about as fresh as it gets.
Gig Harbor Wine Co. Vine - Cabernet Franc 2022
Cabernet Franc gets skipped constantly by people who reflexively reach for Cab Sauv or Merlot, but it's often the most interesting red on any Pacific Northwest list. A house-made Cab Franc at this price range is the kind of bottle worth asking about.
Gig Harbor Wine Co. Sturdy Gertie - Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2023
At $60, this is the priciest bottle on a list where everything else tops out at $50. Without third-party context on what a reserve Cabernet from this producer is worth, it's the one label where we'd want to taste before committing. The name is great, the value proposition is unproven.
Gig Harbor Wine Co. Silver Glide - Reserve Syrah 2023 + Charcuterie board
A reserve Syrah — typically dark-fruited and peppery in a Pacific Northwest expression — is the move with cured meats and aged hard cheeses. It's the obvious call at a wine bar bottle shop where a grazing board is probably the centerpiece of the table.
The Bottom Line
Gig Harbor Wine Co. is a one-brand wine bar that somehow doesn't feel like a vanity project — the range is thoughtful, the prices are honest, and the whole setup rewards locals who want to drink well without the markup theater. If you're open to going all-in on a single producer for a night, this is a genuinely fun place to do it.
· Tacoma · New American
The Table is doing more with its wine program than most restaurants in its weight class, and the sommelier on staff gives it real credibility. We'd send a wine-curious friend here without hesitation — just ask questions, trust the staff, and let them point you somewhere interesting.

· Tacoma · Seafood
The Lobster Shop's wine list is doing more than it has to, and doing it at prices that won't make you wince. If you're eating seafood in Tacoma, this is a better glass situation than you'd find at most spots with ten times the ambition.

· Tacoma · Northwest seafood & steak
Copper & Salt isn't trying to be a wine destination, but it's working harder than most Northwest kitchen-and-bar concepts to give you something worth drinking. The regional focus is genuine, the by-the-glass selection is unusually generous, and the pricing won't make you wince — send a friend here with confidence.

Bodega SF is what happens when someone actually gives a damn about the list instead of just checking a box. Twenty-six bottles, almost all pourable by the glass, priced fairly, and built around grapes most wine bars wouldn't dare touch — send your adventurous friends here and tell them to skip the safe picks.

· Mobile · Wine bar & bottle shop
Red or White is doing something genuinely unusual for Mobile: serious American wine at retail-adjacent prices in a state not exactly famous for its wine culture. The list is narrow in its ambitions — if you want Old World depth, look elsewhere — but within its lane, it punches well above what you'd expect from coastal Alabama.

Tacoma Wine Merchants is doing something quietly remarkable: a bottle shop and enoteca with Bartolo Mascarello on the shelf and a $17 Rosso Conero next to it, all priced like they actually want to move wine. If you're anywhere near Tacoma, this is worth a detour.
