Wingman Metrics
You're sitting on a dock watching the marsh grasses sway, and the wine list arrives looking exactly like you'd expect from a laid-back Lowcountry fish camp — approachable, familiar, and built to make everyone at the table happy without breaking the bank. Nothing here is going to make a wine nerd's pulse race, but the list isn't trying to. It's doing its job, and doing it reasonably well.
The list runs about 30-40 labels spread across white, red, sparkling, and rosé, with a clear tilt toward California and Oregon — this is a crowd-pleaser list engineered for seafood-forward dining. Whites are the obvious strength: there's real range here from a Trimbach Pinot Blanc out of Alsace to the Archery Summit Vireton Pinot Gris from Willamette Valley and even a Comte de la Chevalière Sancerre for those who want something with backbone. Reds are workmanlike — Stags' Leap Cab and Frank Family Pinot Noir represent the upper tier, while Bogle Merlot and Trivento Malbec handle the value end. The global reach is wider than you'd expect from a marina restaurant: Germany, New Zealand, Argentina, Australia, Loire, Rhône — it's not deep in any of those regions, but the breadth shows someone made an effort.
The glass program appears to pull from most sections of the list, with an estimated 10-15 options priced $10-$16 — reasonable for a waterfront spot where the sunset is doing half the heavy lifting. Rotation doesn't appear to be a core part of the program; this feels like a set list that changes infrequently. That said, at those glass prices you can explore without commitment, which is exactly the right call on a warm evening in the Lowcountry.
Touraine Sauvignon Blanc, Loire, France — $36
Loire Sauvignon Blanc at the lower end of the bottle price range is almost always a smart move at a seafood restaurant — it's bright, mineral, and cuts through anything from the sea. This is the bottle we'd reach for every time.
Trimbach Pinot Blanc, Alsace, France
Most people walk right past Alsatian Pinot Blanc on a list like this and head straight for the Chardonnay. Don't. Trimbach is a serious producer and Pinot Blanc is a food-friendly, understated wine that absolutely sings next to crab cakes or grilled grouper.
Cakebread Chardonnay, Napa Valley, California
Cakebread is the wine list equivalent of ordering a Budweiser at a craft brewery — it's name recognition dressed up as a choice. You're paying a Napa premium for a wine that coasts on its reputation, and on a list with better Chardonnay options, there's no reason to default here.
Archery Summit Vireton Pinot Gris, Willamette Valley, Oregon + Shrimp & Polenta
Vireton Pinot Gris brings a little weight and stone fruit richness without going full butter-bomb, which makes it a natural match for creamy polenta and the briny sweetness of Gulf shrimp. It's one of the more interesting whites on the list and it earns its place here.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Fishcamp on Broad Creek isn't a destination for the wine — it's a destination for the dock, the marsh view, and the grouper, and the wine list is smart enough to stay out of the way and support that experience. Send a friend here for a cold glass of Touraine on the patio and they won't be disappointed.
Shelter Cove · Hilton Head Island · Seafood / New American
Sea Salt isn't trying to win a wine list award and it shows, but it's not trying to rip you off on selection either — just on price. If you're already there for the scallops and the view, the wine list will serve you fine; just set your expectations to vacation mode and not discovery mode.

Harbour Town / Sea Pines · Hilton Head Island · Resort / American
The Harbour Town Clubhouse wine list is exactly what it needs to be for its audience — familiar, functional, and unlikely to offend anyone in a golf shirt. Just know going in that you're paying resort prices for resort selections, and calibrate your expectations accordingly.

Reilley's is a reliable beach-town bar that happens to have wine — not a wine destination that happens to serve food. Hit it during happy hour for half-off house pours, order the Rosé with your crab cakes, and keep your expectations calibrated to the vibe.

Redfish is the kind of wine list that works better than it should for a coastal tourist spot — 400 bottles is nothing to dismiss, even if the selection leans on crowd-pleasing California names and the pricing reflects the zip code. Go in knowing what you want, order the Riesling by the glass, and you'll have a fine night.

Shelter Cove · Hilton Head Island · Upscale Coastal American
The Pearl is a solid, well-dressed list that serves its upscale coastal crowd without rocking any boats. Bring a group, let someone order the Miraval, and don't let the Silver Oak get near your credit card.

Il Carpaccio is a reliable dinner option for Hilton Head visitors who want a glass of something recognizable without overthinking it — but anyone hoping to find Italy on the wine list will come up short. Drink the bubbles, enjoy the pasta, and don't expect the list to challenge you.
