Great Views, Forgotten Wine List

The three-story Gulf views are genuinely stunning and the vibe is pure Florida beach bar energy — but when you flip to the drink menu looking for wine, you get eight options that read like a grocery store endcap. Nobody here is pretending wine is the point, and at least they're honest about it.
Eight labels, all Californian, split evenly between Woodbridge and Josh Cellars — that's the whole show. No whites beyond Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and a Sauvignon Blanc, no rosé for a place sitting directly on the water, and zero regional curiosity anywhere on the list. Woodbridge handles the house tier and Josh Cellars steps up as the 'premium' option, which is a little like calling business class a private jet. There are no bottles, no half-pours, no anything that suggests someone thought hard about this.
All eight wines are poured by the glass, priced between $7 and $12, which is genuinely the most interesting thing about this program. The $7 Woodbridge pours won't embarrass anyone sharing a bucket of peel-and-eat shrimp on a hot afternoon, and for a beach bar moving this kind of volume, the pricing is refreshingly honest. Just don't show up expecting rotation or discovery.
Josh Cellars Sauvignon Blanc — $12
It's the most food-friendly wine on the list for a seafood-heavy menu, and at $12 a glass in a marina setting with Gulf views, you could do a lot worse. Crisp enough to hold up to fried grouper without disappearing.
Josh Cellars Pinot Noir
Most people at a beach bar reach for white or a cocktail, but if you're ordering crab legs and want something red, the Josh Pinot Noir is light enough not to fight the seafood. Underordered here for sure.
Woodbridge Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon and fried seafood is an awkward pairing on a good day, and Woodbridge Cab isn't doing anything to bridge that gap. Save the $7 and get another cocktail — that's clearly where Crabby's talent lives.
Josh Cellars Sauvignon Blanc + Grouper Sandwich
Fresh Florida grouper is clean, mild, and slightly sweet — the Sauvignon Blanc's citrus edge cuts through any fried coating and doesn't steamroll the fish. It's the one pairing on this list that actually makes sense.
❌ The Bottom Line
Crabby's is a sun-soaked, high-volume beach bar that does seafood and cocktails well — wine is clearly an afterthought. Order the grouper, get a frozen drink, and don't come here with wine on your mind.
Westshore · Clearwater · Fine-dining steakhouse
The Capital Grille is a reliable machine — the wine program is competent, well-staffed, and properly executed, but the markups are steep and the list plays it extremely safe. Send a friend here for a business dinner, but tell them to order Jordan before anyone at the table reaches for the Opus One.

Fleming's is a reliable machine — excellent execution, real wine depth by-the-glass, staff that knows the list, and no surprises in a bad way. Just don't expect discovery; expect comfort, and budget accordingly for markup.

Guppy's won't win any awards for adventurous curation, but the list is fairly priced, thoughtfully stocked for a seafood crowd, and broad enough that everyone at the table finds something. Send a friend here for the grouper and tell them to drink the Cloudy Bay.

E&E Stakeout Grill is a perfectly decent neighborhood steakhouse wine list that asks too much on most nights — but Wine Wednesday flips the math entirely and makes this one of the better value plays in the Clearwater area. Come on a Wednesday, order the Chianti Classico, and you'll have zero complaints.

Clearwater Beach · Clearwater · Mediterranean and Mexican-inspired wine bar and bistro
This is the best wine program you're likely to find within walking distance of Clearwater Beach, and that's not faint praise — it's a genuine destination for the wine-curious crowd that usually has to settle for whatever's on draft. Wednesday's half-price U.S. bottle deal seals it: show up, order spaghetti, drink better than you planned.

Carrabba's Clearwater is a solid, honest chain wine program — fair prices, recognizable producers, nothing offensive. Send a friend here if they want Italian comfort food and an easy bottle of Chianti; don't send them if they're hoping to find something worth talking about.
