Wingman Metrics
You're on the seventh floor with a panoramic Gulf view and a complimentary champagne toast at sunset — the setting does a lot of the heavy lifting before you even glance at the wine list. The vibe is polished waterfront casual, the kind of place where the room sells the experience and the list is asked to do less. What's here leans Italian, which at least makes sense alongside the seafood-forward kitchen.
The wine program has an Italian focus, which tracks for a menu built around scallops, sea bass, and tuna — coastal Italian wines and coastal Florida seafood are a logical handshake. Beyond that regional lean, we don't have enough sourced detail to map out producers, depth, or whether there are any genuine finds buried in the list. What we can say is that at a $30–$60 entree price point with a polished-service posture, the list is almost certainly playing it safe rather than swinging for anything adventurous. Gaps in the by-the-glass program and lack of any documented specials suggest the wine list is maintained rather than curated.
Glass pour specifics aren't documented for this location, so we can't tell you how many options are on offer or what the rotation looks like. Given the upscale-casual positioning, expect a standard short list of crowd-pleasing whites and reds — probably enough to get through dinner, not enough to get excited about.
The Bottom Line
Ocean Seven earns its reputation on setting and service — the seventh-floor Gulf view and sunset champagne toast are genuinely hard to beat. The wine list appears to be an afterthought relative to the room, leaning Italian but not deeply so, with no documented specials, deals, or standout picks. Go for the experience; just don't expect the list to match the view.
· Clearwater · American Grill
Clearwater Grill's wine list is honest about what it is: inexpensive, familiar, and unfussy. The pricing is fair across the board and the Domaine Bousquet Malbec Reserve gives you a genuine reason to order a bottle. But there's no curation here, no rotation, and no sense that anyone is tending this program with any care. Order the Bousquet, enjoy your meal, and don't expect the list to surprise you.

· Clearwater · Hotel Tavern, American
Aviators Tavern is a hotel bar with a hotel bar wine list, and there is no pretending otherwise. If you are staying at The Clearwater Hotel and want a glass of something inoffensive before dinner, the Oyster Bay will do the job. For anyone who actually cares about what is in their glass, walk somewhere else.

The Capital Grille is a reliable machine — the wine program is competent, well-staffed, and properly executed, but the markups are steep and the list plays it extremely safe. Send a friend here for a business dinner, but tell them to order Jordan before anyone at the table reaches for the Opus One.

Fleming's is a reliable machine — excellent execution, real wine depth by-the-glass, staff that knows the list, and no surprises in a bad way. Just don't expect discovery; expect comfort, and budget accordingly for markup.

Guppy's won't win any awards for adventurous curation, but the list is fairly priced, thoughtfully stocked for a seafood crowd, and broad enough that everyone at the table finds something. Send a friend here for the grouper and tell them to drink the Cloudy Bay.

E&E Stakeout Grill is a perfectly decent neighborhood steakhouse wine list that asks too much on most nights — but Wine Wednesday flips the math entirely and makes this one of the better value plays in the Clearwater area. Come on a Wednesday, order the Chianti Classico, and you'll have zero complaints.

Catch does enough right on the wine front to earn a recommendation for a special night out at the Beach — just order smart, stay in the Chablis lane, and don't let anyone talk you into a $85 glass of Veuve. It's a reliable list that could be great with a little more courage and a lot less markup.
