Wingman Metrics
You're walking into a casino steakhouse, so your expectations are probably calibrated accordingly — but Copper Rock pushes back on that assumption. The list clocks in at 200+ labels, and the bar display is stacked with recognizable heavy hitters like Cakebread and Silver Oak. It's aspirational in the right ways, even if the markups remind you that the house always wins.
The list leans hard into Napa — Caymus, Silver Oak, Jordan, Far Niente, Kistler, Opus One — which is exactly what a steakhouse crowd wants and exactly what the kitchen can support. There's a respectable Champagne section anchored by Taittinger and Dom Pérignon, and some token Old World coverage including a Château Margaux that's essentially a trophy pour at $3,000. What's missing is anything off the beaten path: no interesting Rhône, no Barolo, no domestic Pinot Noir beyond the obvious suspects. Campo Viejo Tempranillo at $20 is doing a lot of heavy lifting on the value end of the spectrum.
Twenty-eight by-the-glass options is genuinely impressive for Indiana — that's not a typo. The glass pours run $14–$24, with Rombauer Chardonnay at $23 and Caymus Cab at $34 anchoring the upper end. The rotation doesn't appear to change much, but the depth of the program means you're not stuck choosing between two anonymous California reds.
Taittinger Brut La Française NV — $58
Taittinger La Française retails around $40–$45, so the markup here is relatively modest by steakhouse standards — and it's real Champagne, not sparkling wine doing cosplay. For a special-occasion opener before a ribeye, this is the move.
Kistler Vineyards Les Noisetiers Sonoma Coast 2015
Kistler is one of California's most respected Chardonnay producers and this wine gets overlooked every time a table orders Rombauer on autopilot. At $115, it's not cheap — but it's a fundamentally more interesting bottle, with real tension and restraint that Rombauer simply doesn't have.
Opus One Napa Valley 2019
At $595, you're paying for the label, full stop. Opus One retails around $350–$375, which means you're leaving serious money on the table for a wine that, while good, is more status symbol than revelation. That same $595 could get you multiple bottles of something more exciting.
Jordan Winery Alexander Valley 2019 + USDA Prime Ribeye
Jordan Cab is built for exactly this moment — it's generous and fruit-forward without being a fruit bomb, with just enough structure to cut through the fat of a well-marbled prime ribeye. At $150 it's not a bargain, but it's the right call at this table.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Copper Rock is a casino steakhouse that's taken its wine program seriously enough to matter — 200 labels and 28 glass pours in South Bend, Indiana is legitimately impressive. The markups are steakhouse-standard steep and the list plays it safe, but if you're here for a prime cut and a bottle of California Cabernet, you're in good hands.
Mishawaka · South Bend · Casual Seafood and Grill
Bonefish Grill Mishawaka isn't a wine destination, but it's not trying to be — and at $6–$9 a glass with recognizable, well-stored bottles, it earns its place as a reliable option when you just want a decent pour with your salmon. Send your friends here knowing the wine won't disappoint, even if it won't surprise anyone either.

Tippecanoe Place is a beautiful room with a wine list that plays it very, very safe — fine for a anniversary dinner where the ambiance is doing most of the work, but don't come here expecting the wine to match the architecture. Order the Jordan, enjoy the mansion, and leave the exploration for another night.

Sunny Italy Cafe is a genuinely beloved South Bend institution — the food has the history and the heart. The wine list, unfortunately, is just along for the ride. Order the pasta, drink the Montepulciano, and don't expect much more than that.

South Bend · South Bend · Casino Dining / American Steakhouse
Four Winds Copper Rock has built a wine list that punches well above what any casino in this zip code needs to — 450 bottles is real, and the anchoring producers are crowd-pleasing for a reason. The markups are casino-predictable and the program lacks the staff depth and rotating energy to reach its potential, but if you're eating steak in South Bend tonight, this is where you want to be drinking.

Republic Chophouse is doing the right things with wine for a downtown Green Bay steakhouse — fair markups, enough depth to make choosing interesting, and proper bottle selections to anchor a big meal. It's not going to make a wine obsessive drive in from Milwaukee, but if you're already here for the ribeye, you won't be disappointed by what's in your glass.

Twenty One Steak is the best wine program in Pueblo, which is a real thing worth saying out loud. The markups sting and the list plays it safe, but there are genuinely good bottles here if you know where to look — and for a special night on the riverwalk, it delivers.
