Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Bonefish Grill Mishawaka arrives looking exactly like what it is: a polished chain restaurant doing its best to make you feel taken care of. It's not trying to impress anyone who's been to a real wine bar, but it's also not embarrassing itself. Think of it as a solid bench player — reliable when you need it, never going to carry the team.
The list runs 30 to 50 bottles deep with a heavy lean on New World crowd-pleasers — California, New Zealand, Australia, and some northern Italian Pinot Grigio for good measure. You'll find the usual suspects: Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc, Meiomi Pinot Noir, Columbia Crest Merlot, and William Hill Chardonnay. There's a gesture toward premium with The Prisoner and Unshackled making appearances, which is a step above what most chains bother with. Gaps in old-world representation are wide enough to drive a truck through — no Burgundy, no Rhône, no Rioja — but that's clearly not who this list is trying to be.
Somewhere between 12 and 18 pours by the glass, priced at $6–$9, which is genuinely fair for a sit-down restaurant in this market. Rotation is essentially nonexistent — this is a corporate menu that changes on a quarterly calendar at best, not based on what's drinking well right now. The inclusion of Decoy Premium Seltzer Chardonnay with Clementine and Decoy Premium Seltzer Rosé with Black Cherry in the glass program tells you something about who they're targeting, and it's not you if you're here reading this.
Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc — $8
At roughly $8 a glass, this is a known quantity that consistently over-delivers for the price point. Crisp, clean, and genuinely good with anything from the sea on this menu — it's the safe bet that's also the smart bet.
Unshackled
Most people at a Bonefish Grill are reaching for the Meiomi without a second thought, but Unshackled — the more accessible sibling of The Prisoner's family — offers better complexity and a more interesting bottle to work through at the table. Worth asking about.
Jacob's Creek Moscato
Mass-market Australian Moscato at a seafood restaurant is a rough combination. It's sweet, low-effort, and clashes with most of what's coming out of the kitchen. If you want bubbles, the Chandon Brut is right there.
Chandon Brut Sparkling + Bang Bang Shrimp
The creamy, spicy sauce on Bang Bang Shrimp needs something with bubbles and enough acidity to cut through it — Chandon Brut does exactly that without getting complicated about it. It's the most fun combo on the menu.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Bonefish Grill Mishawaka isn't a wine destination, but it's not trying to be — and at $6–$9 a glass with recognizable, well-stored bottles, it earns its place as a reliable option when you just want a decent pour with your salmon. Send your friends here knowing the wine won't disappoint, even if it won't surprise anyone either.
North side / Tippecanoe area · South Bend · American
Tippecanoe Place is a beautiful room with a wine list that plays it very, very safe — fine for a anniversary dinner where the ambiance is doing most of the work, but don't come here expecting the wine to match the architecture. Order the Jordan, enjoy the mansion, and leave the exploration for another night.

Sunny Italy Cafe is a genuinely beloved South Bend institution — the food has the history and the heart. The wine list, unfortunately, is just along for the ride. Order the pasta, drink the Montepulciano, and don't expect much more than that.

Four Winds Copper Rock has built a wine list that punches well above what any casino in this zip code needs to — 450 bottles is real, and the anchoring producers are crowd-pleasing for a reason. The markups are casino-predictable and the program lacks the staff depth and rotating energy to reach its potential, but if you're eating steak in South Bend tonight, this is where you want to be drinking.

Crooked Ewe is a brewery first and a wine bar never — but for what it is, the wine program shows real effort and real value. If you're dragged here by a beer-loving group and need something in a stem, you'll be fine.
