Copper House lands in that sweet spot between neighborhood bar and date-night restaurant, and the wine list matches that energy — familiar faces, approachable prices, no pretension. You're not going to find anything here that challenges your assumptions about wine, but you're also not going to get gouged. It's a list built for people who want a glass with dinner, not a seminar.
The 20-odd label list leans heavily on California — Josh Cellars Cab, Meiomi Pinot Noir, Bogle Chardonnay, Imagery Pinot Noir — with a few international entries rounding things out: Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, Villa Pozzi Moscato from Sicily, and a Bieler rosé from Provence. It's the kind of list that sells well at a casual spot in the Midwest, and there's no shame in that, but anyone looking for texture or discovery is going to hit a wall pretty fast. The gaps are predictable: no sparkling, nothing aged, no interesting domestic producers outside the big brands. What it does, it does consistently.
Roughly 12-14 options available by the glass, which is a solid count for a restaurant this size, and nearly the entire list is pourable by the glass — a genuinely consumer-friendly setup. Prices run $6–$11, which is reasonable for Evansville, and the Decoy Cabernet at $10 is the high-water mark for quality in the pour lineup.
Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County — $10/glass or $36/bottle
At 80% bottle markup over a $20 retail price, this is one of the fairest pours on the list. Decoy consistently over-delivers for the category — smooth, fruit-forward, and actually from Sonoma. At $10 a glass, it's hard to argue with.
Bieler Père & Fils Rosé Sabine
Most people reaching for rosé here will default to something they've seen at Kroger, but this Provence rosé quietly outclasses its neighbors on the list. Dry, crisp, versatile — it's the move with the curried cauliflower wings or goat cheese bites, and at $8 a glass it punches above its weight.
Meiomi Pinot Noir California
At $9 a glass or $32 a bottle, you're paying restaurant prices for a wine that retails for $18 and is available at every grocery store in America. It's not bad wine, but the value case falls apart when the Decoy Cab is sitting right next to it at $10 and actually gives you more for your money.
Bieler Père & Fils Rosé Sabine + Curried Cauliflower Wings
The dry, bright acidity of this Provence rosé cuts right through the richness of the curry spice without fighting it. It's light enough not to overwhelm the dish but has enough structure to keep up with the heat — exactly the kind of pairing that makes you look smart at the table.
Wednesday — Wine Wednesday: house wines drop to $4 all day, and all other glass pours get $2 off. Half off select appetizers from 3–6 PM as a bonus. It's not technically half-price across the board, but the house wine deal is legitimately good.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Copper House isn't going to be anyone's wine destination, but it doesn't need to be — fair prices, a generous by-the-glass selection, and Wine Wednesday make it a genuinely solid neighborhood option. Show up on a Wednesday, order the Bieler rosé, and enjoy the goat cheese bites without overthinking it.

Turoni's is a great neighborhood pizza spot that happens to have wine on the menu, not a wine destination that also serves pizza. Come for the food and the house-brewed beer; treat the $4.99 Lambrusco as a pleasant bonus, not the reason you're here.

Turoni's is a great pizza spot and a solid craft beer destination — the wine list is neither of those things. Order the Lambrusco if you're committed to the bit, then let the beer menu do the real work.

Turoni's is a great neighborhood pizza spot with a legitimate craft beer program — come for the pies and the pints, not the wine. If you need a glass of something, the $4.99 price tag makes it painless, but don't expect anything beyond the basics.

BJ's Evansville is a brewpub, full stop — the wine list is a courtesy offering for the table members who don't drink beer, not a destination in itself. If you're going, go on a Thursday, order the Meiomi or the Kim Crawford at half price, and let everyone else worry about the craft tap list.

Bar Louie Evansville is a fine place to grab a beer or a cocktail — the wine list is an afterthought dressed up in a laminated menu. Come on a Thursday, order the rosé, and call it a win.

LongHorn's wine list is the dining equivalent of a screensaver — it's technically there, it moves occasionally, but nobody's really watching it. Come for the steak, order the La Crema if you want wine, and keep your expectations where the decor suggests they should be.

Bleu is the kind of wine list that works well if you already know what you want and want it done properly. It's not pushing any boundaries, the markups are on the steeper side, and there's no real discovery to be had — but for a night out in Columbia, it's a solid, well-stocked option that won't let you down.
