The wine list at Chan's Place is a one-pager — short, unpretentious, and leaning hard on Washington State standbys. It's not trying to be a wine destination, and it knows it. What you get is a list that won't embarrass anyone at the table.
The list runs 20 to 40 bottles, with Washington State and California doing most of the heavy lifting. Chateau Ste. Michelle and Columbia Crest anchor things firmly in the Pacific Northwest comfort zone — reliable producers, but not exactly adventurous picks. There's no real exploration of Bordeaux, Burgundy, or even Oregon next door, and nothing here is going to surprise a seasoned wine drinker. That said, for a casual Chinese-American spot in Everett, the regional focus actually makes some sense — these are crowd-friendly wines people already trust.
Six to ten pours by the glass, landing in the $10–$20 range — which is honest pricing for what's on offer. Don't expect a rotating selection or any special program keeping things fresh; this list is set and mostly forgotten between menu reprints. Grab the Riesling by the glass and move on.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling — $10–$12 (est.)
Washington Riesling is criminally underrated with Chinese food, and Ste. Michelle's is the gold standard at this price tier. Off-dry, bright with stone fruit and a little zip — it's a no-brainer with the menu here.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling
Most people at a Chinese restaurant default to beer or a big red without thinking twice. The Riesling is the sleeper pick on this list — it actually plays well with heat, salt, and sweet-savory sauces in a way that Cabernet simply doesn't.
Columbia Crest Grand Estates Cabernet Sauvignon
It's a perfectly fine grocery store Cab and it's priced like one, but it fights the menu at every turn. Kung Pao Chicken and Peking Duck don't need a tannic red — you're just making your meal harder.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling + Peking Duck
The duck's lacquered, savory-sweet skin needs something with a little residual sweetness and enough acidity to cut the fat. The Ste. Michelle Riesling does exactly that — and it won't bulldoze the delicate flavors the way a Cab would.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Chan's Place isn't your wine destination — it's your reliable neighborhood spot where the food is the point and the wine list is there to serve it without drama. Order the Riesling, skip the Cab, and let the Peking Duck do the talking.
Broadway · Everett · Mexican
Tampico is a neighborhood Mexican spot that does its core job well — the wine list is simply not part of that job. Order the margaritas, grab a Sangria carafe if you need something to share, and save the wine conversation for somewhere else.

Outback Everett feeds a lot of people well, but the wine list is pure cruise control — familiar labels, chain markups, and zero effort to go beyond the obvious. Order the Ste. Michelle, enjoy your steak, and don't come here expecting anything more from the bottle.

Red Lobster's wine list exists to check a box, not to enhance your meal. Order the Ste. Michelle Riesling, enjoy your biscuits, and save the serious wine for somewhere that actually cares.

Buffalo Wild Wings Everett is not a wine destination — it is a sports bar that happens to have a few bottles on a shelf somewhere. Save your wine curiosity for literally anywhere else in Everett and order the beer.

Olive Garden's wine list is the dining equivalent of airport Wi-Fi — functional, fine, and not something you'd ever brag about. Order the Chianti, enjoy the breadsticks, and save the serious bottle for somewhere that earned it.

Applebee's wine list exists because it legally has to, not because anyone here loves wine. Order the cocktails, drink the beer, and come back for wine somewhere else.

Lieu's has a kitchen worth visiting, but the wine list isn't part of the reason to go. Stick to beer, tea, or whatever cocktails they're pouring — the wine program here is two grocery-store bottles on repeat, priced like they're doing you a favor.

Teddy Wongs is the kind of place that shouldn't work on paper — dumplings, Fort Worth, Wine Spectator award — and yet here we are. If you let the list guide you toward Alsace or Texas instead of defaulting to the California crowd-pleasers, you'll eat and drink extremely well for the money.

Hunan Taste is the rare suburban Chinese restaurant that takes wine seriously enough to earn a 17-year Wine Spectator streak — and while the list won't challenge anyone, it's priced fairly and executed with consistency. If you're in Denville and want a real bottle with your Hunan beef, this is your best bet for miles.
